A shopping plaza sign against a clear blue sky. A black and white drawing of a tall ship sits above "Sea Towne" yellow lined white script against a light blue background, just lighter than the sky behind it. Underneath, "SHOPS.RESTAURANTS.SERVICES", then a grid of smaller individual signs for the businesses in the plaza: BBSI, Coca-Mocha Joe's, Winds of Praise 98.7 FM, Elkhorn Real Estate, Actual Human dog com, Hearing Aids- Newport Hearing Center, Discovery...." The rest of the sign is out of frame.

Fratz-Dunn House, circa 1869, at Fort Hoskins on the Luckiamute River. Kings Valley, OR 📷 #infrared #oregon #pnw #KodakPixProAZ252 #pointandshoot #photographersunited #photography #photographersonbluesky #photosky Library of Congress blurb in alt text.

Infrared photo of a yellow house. Grasses in the foreground and the field behind appear in hues of pink and yellow, the hills beyond are pink and purple. The blue sky and scattered puffy white clouds mostly retain their natural color, but with a tinge of pink. A dirt road curves through the very bottom of the frame, while a modern highway peeks out between the house and the field. Foliage and trees, also pinkish, crowd the house on the left.

From the Library of Congress:

The Fratz-Dunn House was built circa 1869 on the remains of Fort Hoskins (1856). The Frantz family purchased the decommissioned fort site in 1866 and proceeded to construct a home next to the military hospital. The house faces the old military road on the hill (above and to the north) with its back to the Luckiamute River (below and to the south). The structure is Gothic in style and T-shaped in plan. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 as an element of the Fort Hoskins Site. The structure is slated to become the interpretive center for the Fort Hoskins Historic Park.

Nancy Jo's Salem, OR Former location of "Rock-n-Rogers 50's Diner" and at that time, the Cadillac was painted pink. 📷 #CanonEOS20D #photosky #pnw #westcoast #salem #oregon #classiccars #photography #photographersunited #photographersonbluesky

A full sized classic red Cadillac with tail fins, and trimmed in neon sits 20ish feet in the air, silhouetted against a blue sky with scattered clouds, as a sign for a restaurant in Salem, Oregon.

"Nancy Jo's Burgers and Fries" is painted in white script on the side of the car. Other signs on the white support column include: a neon open sign, a circle with a drawing of the proprietor's smiling face with the words: "Nancy Jo's, the Proof is in the Burger", one that says "DRIVE THRU", one that says "ORDER ONLINE" with the a website address for the restaurant, and a small sign at the bottom reads "SE HABLA ESPAÑOL".

The small restaurant, white with a red roof, sits behind the sign. There are picnic tables and a single car in the drive-thru.

Newport, OR 📷 #oregoncoast #pnw #photosky Canon EOS 6D Moby Dick's is gone. A victim of the pandemic, I believe, but their mural remains at the bayfront.

A mural of a whale smashing a boat from below, several men in the water swimming away in stormy waters. One sailor still clings to debris atop the whale's head. The mural is situated on a blue corrugated metal wall with two horizontal white stripes below it, near the sidewalk. Two orange traffic cones, one larger than the other sit near the curb, which is painted green. A small sign in the corner of the mural reads "donated by Moby Dick's Seafood and Spirits Hwy 101"

A sticker on a metal surface reading " Fight the State, Not Its Wars. All block letters, except the "the" in " fight the State", which is script. Black lettering on a white background, spray painted red, speckled over the white, except the upper left corner, where a stencil was used to make a row of red dots against the white background on the top half of the word "fight". In the bottom right, small pictograms: a Molotov, the Earth, a peace sign and the letters HER above ESY.

The carnivorous Darlingtonia Californica flowering, May of this year near Florence, OR 📷 #photosky #oregoncoast #pnw #photography Canon 20d

Flowers droop down from long, thin stems among the pod like Darlingtonia leafs.

A brown wooden sign with a diagram showing the parts of the Darlingtonia plant, and the following message:

DARLINGTONIA

These cobra-like plants, Darlingtonia Californica, are found natively in the bog areas of Northern California and Southwestern Oregon. They flower in May or June with hanging blooms of yellow and red and produce up to a dozen leaves per plant. Erect seed pods remain most of the summer.

Insects are lured into the leaf opening under the hood by nectar on the colorful "petal-like" appendages and the edges of the opening. Once inside the hood the insects become confused by the many transparent areas in the upper parts of the leaves which appear as exits. Keeping a foothold on the glassy smooth upper surface of the tube is difficult and eventually the insects are trapped in the lower tube by sharp downward pointing hairs. After falling into a pool of liquid at the base of the leaf, the captive is digested and absorbed as food through the plants thin lower walls.

Somebody "found themself" in Waldport driving a very nice car to buy a very bad sandwich. 📷 #oregoncoast #photosky Canon 20d

A very fancy classic car, probably 85 years old, parked in front of a corporate sandwich franchise.

Another angle, of the back of the car reflecting the cloudy sky in its polished black paint. The corpo sandwich shop is Open, per its lit up sign in the window, its drab vertical metal siding provides contrast to the soft curves of the classic car.

A lower angle, from the side and showing the front end of the car, also revealing its non-sandwich related surroundings: trees and another drab brown and tan building, this time vertical siding! It's a bank.

A sign across the parking lot that reads "Find Yourself in Waldport". Flat and mostly round, but depicting an old signpost, "find Yourself on top, pointing right and "in Waldport" below, pointing left, with waves on one side and trees on the other, referencing Waldport's other slogan: "where the forest meets the trees"
