Fake! You plan for these shots, recce out the location, test, then wait. And when it works out, you edit and try to recreate the vibe you experienced. And still, you get the keyboard wallopers shouting "Fake!", "Poor effort!", "Impossible". TBF, folk that probably don't get out much. 🤦‍♂️ #Stirling
A bright yellow, near full 'Harvest Moon' (99% waning) sits perfectly aligned with the muliti-spired architectural viewing platform feature crown of the Wallace Monument in Stirling, Scotland. The warm coloured brick structure contrasts with the deep blue twilight sky as it sits proud of the trees and foliage on the hills that it sits, with autumnal colours creeping in.

A gurning loon here, but chuffed to chat to a photographic master - Fabrizio Gianni. Illustrious beginning as assistant director to Sergio Leone on "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" no less, and now living a quiet life in Scotland. Great night at the opening of his exhibition in #Stirling
The opening of a Fabrizio Gianni's photography exhibition at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, Scotland, as part of another fantastic Stirling Photography Festival. A photograph of myself holding a signed poster promoting the exhibition and standing next to Fabrizio bringing a touch of Mediterranean pizzaz to Stirling in a blue blazer and dark shades. Some of his photographs - of Gary Oldman and Keanu Reeves hang on the wall behind.

Don't disagree with this. I take and make a lot of landscapes exactly because it does not involve anyone else but myself, the environment and time. And because we have such glorious subject matter within easy reach. At the end of a busy week, this is my reset button. #Stirling #LandscapePhotography
A wide angle landscape photograph of a milky, hazy sunset, soft muted warm orange colours looking over a segment of a grassy field taking on its early autumn state from one side of the frame, then a darker wedge of trees pointing in form the right. Summer's not the best of times for sunsets here, it sets too far behind the Ochil Hills normally. So I don't generally bother. But, after a day of cloud yesterday, the sky lit up in some lovely colour as I walked the dogs around the village pond. #Photography #Clackmannanshire #Scotland
A local photo for local people. It shows a serene post sunset landscape (9:22pm) over the village pond, reflecting the purple and pink hues of the sun's afterglow. In the background are the gently rolling Ochil Hills, with the distinctive outline of Dumyat framed in oink below a cloud-filled sky. Along the water's edge, there is greenery with grasses and reeds with small waterfowl and swans looking to bed down for the night. A row of white houses is visible across the pond emphasising the urban environment. The overall scene has a peaceful and calm, late summer's evening atmosphere.

Been away. Took July off and enjoyed the break from all these unnecessary online distractions. This view is from 34000 feet over The Big Smoke. Apologies if this plants the Eastenders theme tune ear-worm in anyone's head (UK heads that is). #Photography #Summer2026 #ViewFromTheWindow
The photo is an aerial view of London taken from the window seat of a passenger aircraft at 34000ft. The River Thames snakes across the city in its characteristic curves, many bridges, the Thames Flood Barrier on the right and London Eye to the far left of frame, with dense urban development on both banks. Central London is visible with clusters of high-rise buildings, and you can spot the Isle of Dogs, the O2 Arena and Canary Wharf along the prominent bend in the river. Surrounding areas show a patchwork of residential neighbourhoods, parks, and green spaces, which gradually give way to the countryside at the edges of the image.

A fine show of #noctilucent clouds in the sky over #Stirling late last night. #Photography
A panoramic photo of noctilucent clouds in the northern sky over Stirling, Scotland. The scene features deep blue twilight fading to orange towards the horizon, with rare, delicately wispy, glowing silver clouds stretched across the sky. In the distance to the right, the Wallace Monument is illuminated atop Abbey Craig, standing prominently against the darkened hillside and forest. Below, open grassy fields and small clusters of trees and buildings lie in shadow. The composition captures the transition from day to night with clear visibility of the iconic Stirling landmark.

Haribo beetle. Well, scarlet lilly beetle - but they look quite deliciously chewy. One of a pair about to wreak havoc in one of the plant boxes; unless the birds see through their cunning camouflage first and decide they look delicious too. #Spring #MacroPhotography #GardenLife #Beetle

Been on a bit of a mission to catch the last of winter hanging on to this view of Ben Lomond over Stirling. With the temperature rising and the trees sprouting foliage, the view up river to Stirling is going to take on a different aspect in the days and weeks ahead. #LandscapePhotography

Taken early morning in 'golden hour' the view shows the abandoned munitions warehouses at 'Bandeath' before giving way to the city buildings and the ancient and commanding Stirling Castle. Miles beyond, the munro mountain of Ben Lomond frames the outline of the castle with its retreating snow covered summit against a bright blue spring sky.

These weekends just fly in so they do. 😟 Been a good one to get out and about at least, and captured some nice sunset views over the Forth Valley last night from #ClackmannanTower #LandscapePhotography #DronePhotography
Drone shot from above King's Seat Hill. The always interesting views over Alloa and up through the Forth Valley are always enhanced when the sunset and fading light steps up their game like this. This is one of the four towers that were built locally in the 14th and 15th centuries to show off a bit, and what's now left of Clackmannan Tower has clear views to Stirling Castle and Bannockburn over in the next county and would've been a good spot to watch a few ancient battles from.Drone shot from above King's Seat Hill. A very energetic start to the New Year at the Comrie Flambeaux festival. Definitely a unique and fiery way to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the next one! More info in the Alt text. #Scotland #Hogmanay #NewYear

An interesting drive home this morning after all the New Year celbrations. Untreated road still covered in ice and snow for a slow sunrise journey through a cold but bright Scottish valley. #LandscpapePhotography #Winter #Scotland

Forgetting what the sunshine looks like this month so looked out my sunglasses to revisit this year's catalogue before archiving it all for 2025. Antidote to the Scottish December dreich.☀️ #LandscapePhotography #FromTheArchive

Watching a sliver of a sunset down by the water. Camera wasn't ready to catch the seal that came by and snorted its indifference at me, but appreciated a few moments of #Twixmas calm down at the old harbour. #Scotland #Sunset #RiverForth #WellNotWealthy

Monday morning, and December kicks off misty, moody and minimal around this way, taking a long time to unwrap itself from its comfortable duvet. #LandscapePhotography #MoodyMonday #Minimal #Stirling
A minimal style photograph of a partly visible Stirling Castle, its perch on top of the Castle Hill fading and being enveloped in mist.. Mostly white, soft and low contrast with a sliver of detail running across the middle, the Great Hall with it's beige walls the only colour showing. A minimal style photograph of a partly visible Wallace Monument, enveloped in mist and under a blanket of white cloud. Mostly white and low contrast with a sliver of detail running across the middle - The blanketed Ochil Hills lining the north of The Forth Valley and the monument itself piercing through the thick blanket of mist and fog.

Contrasts; The pastoral and peaceful area around the outskirts of our local town at sunset, interrupted by the construction noise for the nearby leisure complex build. But that's all good. #LandscapePhotography #Urban #Rural #DJIGlobal #Clackmannanshire

October. Done ✅ It's been a month of moody sunrises and creeping darkness. Think I even saw the first dusting of snow on the nearby mountains this week too. #Photography #AutumnVibes #WinterIsComing

This fishing boat is always a draw for a camera due it to sitting anchored here in isolation and looking to the sunset. Looks even more lonely with this effect added. Very much the same vibe as sailing the social media waters just now. 🫤 #LandscapePhotography #Sunset #Clackmannanshire
A small fishing boat bathed in the evening light at sunset. Sharply focused and facing the centre of the frame, against a dream-like motion blurred effect of the water and sky that shows little distinction between river, land or sky.

A nice start to the work week and an early morning nature encounter as a seal appeared through the mist and slowly made its way along the River Forth. Can just about make out its wake as it swam slowly off for the relative safety just a bit up river. #Scotland #UrbanWildlife #AutumnWatch
A misty morning view over the Kildean Loop section of the River Forth. Warm golden hour light is diffused in the mist over the still water, its surface broken in the distance by the wake of a seal as it surfaces. Scouting out and about for another arboreal subject to point a camera at every now and again, as another often snapped one has quite literally snapped. Accompanied by two faithful and patient dog 'togs who take no interest in anything photographic. #LandscapePhotography

A group of kids are seen clambering over its sricken form and are silhouetted against a post sunset cloudy sky. In the distance, over the town of Alloa's rooftops, Stirling castle and Ben Lomond can be seen and, to the right of that, the National Wallace Monument can just about be made out in the developing twilight. Two Lhasa Apso dogs sit patiently together on the grassy verge of a single track farm road, bathed in the warm light of a sunset's afterglow. Quite gutted to discover this favourite photographic subject didn't survive a recent storm. I'm sure most photographers have their own 'one tree' that they return to; this one has very much been a regular and recurring feature for me. Even printed and framed a few versions. 😕 #LandscapePhotgraphy

View from the office. #Autumn
This photograph captures a striking autumnal landscape featuring a vivid rainbow arching across a dramatic sky. The scene shows the Wallace Monument, a tall, tower-like structure standing prominently on a wooded hill in the distance. The monument is partially illuminated, contrasting against dark, brooding clouds that dominate the upper part of the image. The rainbow’s bright colours—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet—stand out sharply against the grey sky, creating a vivid focal point. Below, a calm river reflects the muted tones of the sky and the green foliage lining its banks. The landscape includes rolling hills and fields with patches of sunlight breaking through the clouds, casting a dynamic range of light and shadow across the scene.

Struggling to shake the US centric nature on here - No regionalisation or localisation option on this as far as I can tell. So, posting an album of images from one of my very local #photography bolt holes that rarely fails to produce a photo or two. #Scotland ibriphoto.com/the-shore
A photo grid of 30 thumbnail riverscape photographs. I think the earliest photo in here was taken back in 2011. It's from the day an absolute local legend asked if my son and I would like a trip out on his boat 'The Three Sisters'. Of course we jumped at that, and I've been heading back here with a camera ever since. Still surprises me to this day that I show some of these to local folks and they go "Where's this about?"
The views along the river to Stirling and the Trossachs, at any time of year are fantastic. Down river towards Grangemouth is a bit more industrial, but that's not necessarily a negative.

Back to basics, adding some #photography to my long neglected website instead of tumble-weeding on the other places. Unlikely to make any difference, but at least it's all under my control there. I've a lot to get through - this one going back to April 2025 to start. ibriphoto.com/stay-on-the-...
Phot collage - Taken as a distraction on the always subdued hotel to airport transfer along the SS145 route from Sorrento to Naples. All shot from my seat on the bus and all mostly shot on the move as the bus tackled the always congested route.

Autumn has been successfully installed. Cool mornings, damp dewy starts and lazy garden spiders showing off their bed heads. Bring it on. #AutumnVibes #MacroPhotography
An extreme close up photograph of a garden spider on a wooden fence. The camera is positioned in front of the spider, looking through it's spiky fore-legs. It's dark black pin-pointed eyes connect directly with the camera. It sits slightly dishevelled with its limbs at oddly different angles. Early morning dew drops sit as perfect spheres all over the spider's body.

A sunset.
This photograph captures a breathtaking sunset over the Wallace Monument, silhouetted against a vivid orange and pink sky. The sun is positioned perfectly behind the monument, creating a striking halo effect that outlines the monument's crown. Rays of sunlight burst through scattered clouds, casting a warm glow across the sky. In the foreground, a dark silhouette of rolling hills and flat fields stretches out, adding contrast to the bright hues above. A solitary bird is seen flying against the radiant backdrop, enhancing the serene and timeless quality of the scene.
