It’s done. The inside was glazed and the outside was waxed because I like the way the wax burns into my clay. These are two different clay bodies. I was too lazy to bend down and take photos of the carving on the sides. #dragon #bowl #ceramics #artist

So, I’ve finally got some stuff glazed and put into the kiln. Usual process is bisque firing all my pieces until I get to a certain amount (5 items or more, since my pieces are pretty big) before I glaze. Well, I have a few things glazed. Hopefully, they come out of the kiln at this or next week.

I am going to be taking about a week break from ceramics, if a little longer. Last month I was churning out stuff, I just never take photos because it’s tedious. Either way, I’ll be back. Just need a break so I don’t crash and burn. I’m getting used to my new schedule at work + new responsibilities.

I carved into it, can’t add more than four photos but oh well, it will have to do. This thing weighs around 25 lbs of clay; hollow legs, tail, and head. Might add a “lid” as well. This will probably be in total around 40-50 pounds of clay total depending on embellishing. #Dragon #ceramics #art

I put on a fresh coat of underglaze for this. I recently put a clear glaze over it but right now, I’m just showing off the underglazing. Can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s done being glazed. It’ll be out in the studio kiln if there’s enough room to fire it. This is a gift for my friend.
