We have an open invitation for collaborators and coauthors, with two main ways to participate: 1️⃣ Sharing of historical and/or ongoing tracking data under our data-sharing agreement. 2️⃣ Deployment of new tags provided by the project on priority species*.

These aggregated data products will support the development of decision-support tools. 🗺️ We already have tracking data contributions from over 50 PIs, covering 70+ species, which are informing the development of multi-species aggregate maps.

Effective movement ecology studies rely on smart sampling decisions, yet real-world constraints often force trade-offs that can weaken inference.

Reports of complete or widespread failures are especially valuable, as these outcomes are rarely documented, but please share any relevant projects involving device failures.

International Bio-Logging Society @ibiols.bsky.social · 07/04/2026
The goal is to document real-world failure rates and common causes to help practitioners plan robust, ethical studies. We are interested in all experiences with device failure, including projects where a single device failed to work as expected, to those where all devices failed.
