Carson received an IAVS Travel Grant to attend our annual symposium as a poster presenter. In his words: "Without it, I simply wouldn't have been able to afford the trip from Brazil to the symposium". He says that “presenting a poster was actually perfect for where he is in his PhD”.

New in Journal of Vegetation Science: Buhaly et al. found no biotic resistance to non-native species at high elevations globally. Diverse native communities there did not resist invasion, and in some cases coincided with more non-natives. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

We sampled a dry grassland in Armenia, which contained 90 and 104 vascular plant species in plots of 10 m² and 25 m², respectively. These counts are higher than those recorded in any European grassland so far, except for the Carpathian region and steppes near Kursk. www.tuexenia.de/publications...
