Steam looks like it is conducting age assurance checks on all gifts for any child in the UK, no matter the age rating on the gift itself. Tried to gift my son copies of Portal 1 & 2 (PEGI rating of 7 & 12) and son met with "Mature sexual content is not allowed in your country for users under 18".

Somehow a graze.social test feed I set up has a few followers. 🤷‍♂️

Oof! Since DeepSeek have just upped their prices, this is the before and after of how the changes affect the limits in OpenCode Go. I'll still be using it, since it's great for trying out agents with different models, but I'll likely be using it a lot less:

I decided to have make a minimal local first music player with no streaming ability whatsoever. I got fed up that the default for most players is to load a stream and stuff it with ads, or being guided to a platform store over an artists actual site. Give me my local collection every time thanks.

The agents are on to me.
A linkedin message: "Hey lan, thanks for connecting. That trick of pointing a coding agent at your wallowing Astro sites to jump them to v7 is exactly the unglamorous work agents are best at. Since you're comfortable handing them real jobs: have you ever thought about letting one run your Linkedln, the outreach and replies, not just the code?"

This HN thread, stuffed with tools made by devs for themselves since AI. Equal parts interesting and depressing: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4844...
tboughen: "I’m a UK teacher. I have built a custom GPT that marks essays for the subject I teach in a repeatable and reliable way. It gives actionable feedback to students."

"I use it, and have given my students access to it too - they use it to help their revision."

colcoalba: "Students use AI to write essays and teachers use it to grade. What a wonderful system"

markdown: "Kids making mud cakes, climbing trees, and taking shots at each other with shanghais. Teachers lounging on a beach somewhere. Meanwhile in classrooms, bots.
The Dead Classroom Theory."

Genuinely gutted that junodownload.com is no more. It's been a great source for finding new music for me over the last decade.
Message on the junodownload.com website: "It's been our privilege to share some of the most incredible music from the most amazing artists, but we're sorry to say, that the time has come to say goodbye.

There's still plenty of great music available from Traxsource, Beatport, Mixupload and Volumo, but for now, this is Juno Download signing off.

You can download previous orders from your account, and if you need to get in touch, please send us a message, and we will help out however we can."

The 26/27 tax year just started and a new £20k ISA allowance for UK investors. If you'd used your full allowance at the start of April each year and invested in ACWI over the last decade, you'd have a total of £382k and be £37k better off than someone who waited til the last minute each year.
Screenshot of comparison of investment strategies for ACWI. Shows that most years it makes more sense to invest at the start of tax year vs waiting til the end.
