The planners could easily have slotted the vote in on the Fri or Sat. Making sure your events/announcements/etc don't clash with other events or anniversaries is politics 101 for basics.

Hi Folks, I've got the 2027 Larry Calendar ready now. I've had to increase the price to £17 this year as the supplier hiked the price up by £10 leaving me with no margin. bulk buying negates some of the rise but sadly not enough. The order form is here forms.gle/HUNcZdwGJsVV...

For the train nerds... lots of westbound Jubilee line trains terminating at North Greenwich and reversing over the lesser used crossover. Which is also catching out a lot of people seeing a normally westbound train and getting on because of a lack of warnings that it aint.

If it results in more people travelling by train, then it's a good investment in reducing the taxpayer subsidy.

There's pressure to reduce the post-pandemic government subsidy as while total journeys are up, revenues are still down in real terms -- so they need more bums on seats (or on the floor in the corridors) to get the cash it the tills.

Judging by the look of disgust on their faces, just made a massive faux pas on the Lizzie line when I asked two people to please murder their firstborn child, when in fact I meant to ask them to move their bags so I could sit down.
