It's almost Halloween 🎃

He's well loved and also an excellent guard dog.

Alfie never seems able to relax 😉

I've been considering paper armies for some time. Finally, I took the plunge. I don't have a lot of money for gaming, and these work out incredibly cheap in comparison to figures. I love them, and the Peter Dennis artwork is beautiful. The Saxons are almost done now. #Wargaming

Warning, this house is protected by a fearsome guard dog 😉

Alfie the plant. I think I've posted before about some of his unusual sleeping positions, and yes, he is asleep. This is the best so far!!

The rule book was first published in 2011 by Pen and Sword, who more recently put out a paperback copy.

Last nights game at the club. I do love a Napoleonic naval skirmish game. I lost!! I'm very good at that 😁 #wargaming

Alfie, happily watching the world go by. He must have been quite comfortable, he fell asleep like that!!

I had my first game of DBA on Monday night at the club. We suffered a glorious defeat as both of our flanks collapsed, mainly due to my ability to roll ones at the most inopportune moments 😂

Yep. Never grow up, it's a trap.

I received these Irregular Miniatures 28mm ECW figures this morning. It's my first journey into their larger scale, as I've mostly purchased 2mm or 6mm from them in the past. I absolutely love them, the details are beautiful. Exactly what I need to finish a regiment. #Wargaming

This is my daughters Sunday drive, I certainly wouldn't get in her way, that's for sure!!

Alfie isn't a fan of rising early, he prefers a more sedate start to the day. He's probably saving his energy for when he resumes digging up the lawn!!

Tonight, we had a game of Nimitz at the club. Great fun. I even managed to shoot at and sink one of my own destroyers. Don't ask 😂 #Wargaming

Goodnight. Hopefully, I make it to bed, unlike Alfie 🙂

I had my first game of Battle Cry using my 6mm ACW figures today. It was a great game, even though I lost!! Irregular Miniatures figures are perfect for this game, I just need to make the rest of the scenery to replace the terrain tiles. #Wargaming

I so need to get back into painting. It's been such a long time, but I can't find the motivation anymore.

Going, going, gone. Mid morning nap it is then.

We fought the ECW battle of Edgehill at the club tonight, in its entirety, in 2mm. We were play testing the Victory Without Quarter rules and I have to say we had a lot of fun. #Wargaming

I have finally finished my 6mm ACW figures that I intend to use for the game "Battle Cry." I'm looking forward to setting them up. #Wargaming

I've started painting my 6mm ACW Union army. The figures are Irregular Miniatures, not to everyone's tastes, but personally, I love them. As someone who struggles with arthritis, I keep the painting scheme basic. #Wargaming
