Excellent interview with Al Teller from Columbia Records about @brucespringsteen.net on @nbtbpodcast.bsky.social. Well worth an hour of any fans time.

Can't sleep so made a cup of chai and listening to the excellent new album from Tenderness. Saw her open for Jeffrey Martin a couple of months back, the album is even better than I hoped for.

Eleven years since you crossed the black sands. I wish I could say that the world is better than you left it (although it will always be better for having had you in it) but at least there is a new Young Sam to help carry on the Pratchett name and ethos. Love you always ❤️

Always take a punt on a support act. Get in the venue early, and give them your attention. Because the future you care about is playing those sets tonight. Support the support bands. Protect venues. Protect the future.

Night two of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings at the London Palladium. Some excellent alternative choices from night 1, a very different crowd, and one of the best encore sets I think I've ever seen. Finishing with a fully acoustic off-mic performance of Long Black Veil was perfect.

It's June. I've had to find a hoody as the breeze today is cold. Hoping we've not had our summer already.

Good things! Hope tonight is a success.

Kneecap have donated their fee for their Wide Awake slot to Médecins Sans Frontières. During their UK tour, the band ran 10km every day of the 12-date tour to raise money for food parcels for families in Palestine. They raised £30k. #VivaKneecap 🇮🇪 #FreePalestine 🇵🇸

This was 8am Manchester while waiting for what turned out to be excellent breakfast before my train. Last nights show may have been the best of the three. So much fun over this last week, but glad to be nearly home.

Last full day in Manchester. Another excellent breakfast, last night of Bruce's 3 night run, before an early start tomorrow back home.

Happy anniversary! Enjoy your dinner tonight, hopefully Gibson will have an uneventful appointment. Sunny days in Manchester are weird. Grey and rain is normal, blue and sunburn is alien. Bruce again tonight, looking forward to it!

Friday, a lazy and relaxing one ahead for me. Just having a late brunch then going to go and explore central Manchester a bit. Wales yesterday was very picturesque, enjoyable trip, glad I went.

Bruce was great last night. A focused and well thought setlist for the current times in America. Today am on a rail journey around North Wales, enjoying sunshine, mountain views, and some good food.

Have you seen The Musical Box perform the Lamb? It's incredible. They have access to all the old stage props, lighting programs etc.

I hear you on the lack of sleep. Woke up at 3am and have been awake since. Even the sea breeze hasn't helped much, maybe this coffee will!?

Sorry to hear about the allergies. I'm waiting for hayfever to kick in, so far it hasn't despite doing garden things (cutting/strimming). Cooler here today so good to get that done. Grocery delivery later, for now, more ☕ & the last Futurebirds album on the Bluetooth speaker. Go well everyone!

The amount of posts from people in the UK and US wanting to highlight failures of their respective administrations is good to see. However, sharing paywalled news articles doesn't help your cause. If anything they delay/prevent your target audience from engaging any further.

I don't want the Water Companies to be bailed out, I want their bosses to be jailed and their companies repossessed. I don't want Public Services to be cut, I want billionaires to be taxed. I'm not interested in the growth of the richest 1%, I want that money to go to the 99%.

France should. They're the only country with a strong domestic league base to work from. Seeing Italy improve is great, just need to sort their discipline. Reckon they probably would've won today but for the red.

000

Ian @ianlockyer.bsky.social · 15/03/2025

Hopefully. Wales should be a force. It's better for the game when they do well.

000

Ian @ianlockyer.bsky.social · 15/03/2025

Also Gatland rule about playing overseas not helping. They need their best players to play in best leagues to improve.

000

Ian @ianlockyer.bsky.social · 15/03/2025

Wales are now reaping the results of the region system. Less games, less competition, less players. The Welsh 5 plays for Exeter and not sure Id have him in our strongest XV even though we're shit this year.

So much quieter than it used to be though. Not surprised when they're up against Borethick and his anti-rugby team.

Cracking Test between Italy and Ireland. Not quite the planned send off for Murray, Healy and O'Mahony but the W is what counts. Italy are getting better but their discipline isn't.

Or at least do something positive like email the promoter and let them know there is demand for their artist to play in your town. They might be able to accommodate next time.

Happy Monday! Back into reality after being in a Unified Scene/Heathen bubble for a few days. The best run of shows yet. Separation Sunday in full to open last night was pure perfection and joy!

Our news said something about a liehole spewing for a record length of time... I wish it actually did say that! Best avoided by all. Lunch with a friend today which was excellent. I shouldn't need to eat for the rest of the day which is a result too. Happy Wednesday everyone!
