Excellent days birding out West. Spotted Sandpiper, Lapland Bunting and Black Kite (hybrid) played nicely. Turtle Doves went into hiding until we left then showed for others.

Scilly Pelagics day 4. Despite strong easterlies and large swell our evening didn't disappoint. Sapphire was among large Sheers and Storm Petrels throughout. Totals: Cory's 100+, Great 10+, Wilsons 10+, Euro 10+. Highlight was 2 beautiful Ad Sabs plus 4 Bonxie and 2 Blue Sharks. A perfect evening.

Scilly Pelagics, day 3, 08.00-14.00. A really good day for Wilson's SP with more than 30 seen and 9 in view together at one point. Also: Great SW 5+,Cory's 20+, Sooty 2, Grey Phalarope 2, Ocean Sunfish 2. And a strange pelagic sighting of Shoveller 1.

Scilly Pelagics, day 2, 08.30-15.30 Large Sheerwaters were relatively scarce E of the Isles..20+ Cory's, 10+Great. Storm Petrels with us throughout: 15+ Wilson's, 20+ Euro both coming very close to Saphire. Also: 3 Bonxie, 3 Grey Phalarope, 2 Ocean Sunfish.

Excellent morning birding in Wiltshire. Displaying Great Bustards definite highlight but many species we don't often see. Best were: 4 Grey Partridge dust bathing, dozens of Corn Buntings, Yellowhammers, Red Legged Partridges. Rounded off with Stone Curlews through the heat haze.

The rest of our day at Portland went well. Plenty of Dunlin, Sanderling and R Plover at Ferrybridge and good numbers of Little Tern busy on The Fleet. Migrants thin on the ground, singing L Whitethroat our best. Little Owl basked in the sun. Back in time to hear the Great Reed Warbler at Ham Wall

Great day on the levels with @p-sharpe.bsky.social. Lots of Beardies from the Avalon Hide, 2 Bitterns (one of which gave great perched views near VP2. Later we had brief views of a harrier sp at Westhay which was debated all afternoon!

Excellent couple of hours in a Devon woodland this morning. At least 4 pairs of Pied Flycatcher, 2 pairs of Common Redstart, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Firecrest, 2 Cuckoos and some foraging Bank Voles.

Towan beach, Roseland this morning. At least 3 Cirl Buntings though the birds stayed low in windy conditions. Skylarks and Whitethroats everywhere. Excellent Bacon Butty At least half a dozen Red Kites over Hayle Est this afternoon. No Black Kite but I may have missed some. #cornwallbirding

Morning spent around Lizard village. The main excitement was 12 Red Kite circling over the village. Other than that singles of N Wheatear and Tree Pipit along Lloyds Lane the best. Plenty of displaying Whitethroat. #cornwallb

Peaceful early morning at Shapwick. 2 Bittern seen in flight, 2+ Bearded Tit foraging, distant Cuckoo (h), 8+ Hobby's, Great Crane. Lots of common warblers giving good views. A few 4 Spot Chasers emerging after the rain. #somersetbirding

After several failed attempts in the past we finally added Ross's Gull to our list. Gave great views on the roof of LIDL at Newlyn and in flight. Several quick walks between the harbour and LIDL paid off.

Decent views of the Spotted Redshank from VP1, Ham Wall. Kudos to the young birder from Birds of Poole Harbour who found it at the back in of the pool. Also: Redpoll, Treecreeper NFY. Large flock of Siskins, at least 8 Great Egrets (very active), Firecrest seen by others. #somersetbirds
