Re: Browser: I forgot! 😅 Either Safari 18.2 or Chrome 135 (MacOS). Drag preview opacity seems the same in either... It's much more transparent in Firefox (137) fwiw.

Oh nice! I think this captures the idea pretty well! On drop, I might pop the z-index of the faux drag preview so transition stacking is as-if drag-preview-origin elements are always on top and also hide the initial dragged element for a smidge more clarity. codepen.io/Ian-Bellomy/...
