Judge Locke, for example, REJECTED an agreed-to sentence reduction APPROVED by IRB prosecutors under DA Rollins in an outrageous wrongful conviction case. The man was home on a sentence stay and, because Locke refused the agreement, had to go back to prison just to see the Parole Board. #mapoli

“Despite evidence that was hidden by prosecutors for decades and new DNA tests that point to Wright’s innocence, the 63-year-old man is not yet free, and the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office is still fighting to keep him behind bars.” www.masslive.com/news/2025/04...

There is no end to the false narratives the government will tell about people to justify oppression. But we must focus on whether the government should EVER have the power to violate human rights. If the answer is “sometimes,” then we have given officials the license to manufacture these excuses.

Like most weeks, we are spending the last week of Black History Month fighting for freedom. This week, we return to a Springfield court to present more evidence for Eddie Wright, who has already spent 40 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. www.newenglandinnocence.org/innocence-bl...

People sometimes ask exonerees, "How did you SURVIVE all those decades in prison, knowing you were innocent, with people in power working to keep you in a cage?" Some point to the support of their loved ones, many to the importance of resistance, and all to the necessity of hope. Wisdom for us all.

“[R]eality TV promotes a distorted view of prison systems as effective, necessary, & even fair. The shows cultivate acceptance of incarceration or, at minimum, indifference toward the individuals who experience it.” inquest.org/punishment-tv/

We are fighting to end carceral reality TV—including shows such as ‘60 Days In’—because no one should profit from punishment.

We KNOW you all need to watch something hopeful, important, and life-affirming at this moment. Take a look at what exoneree James Watson is doing. If he can do this after 41 years wrongfully incarcerated, we can confront the injustice we see today: youtu.be/kxFUHZHPKY8?...

It’s unsurprising that an attorney general/prosecutor is doing everything he can to prevent someone from telling their story of wrongful conviction to the legislature. We face resistance at every level, regardless of the strength of the evidence of innocence. www.austinchronicle.com/news/2024-12...
