Equally, data as recent as 2019 shows a ratio ranging from 3:1 up to 5:1 of women: men. I'm still looking for data on time for diagnosis divided in this way.

I'm curious which specific sources you are referencing. Data always matters. And yes, men also deal with the disease.

Between social, psychological, and mechanistic models, many patients are left hopeless. Tossing us to CBT often makes little change. ACT helps us adapt. And the physical reality changes very little. Thank you for letting me share a patient perspective.

Being tired and in pain all the time, no matter how we adjust life, does affect our psyche. As with chronic pain, the current model happening in clinical settings shunts us into psychological management only. Established provides get limited rewards for mastering new info & models.

Our symptoms are dismissed, and our diagnoses are delayed. Typically, by years. Women are already highly psychologized in medicine. So bio research us delayed/under-funded, data gets limited investigation for bio-sex differences. And we get sicker. The history of fibromyalgia is a great example.

Women are statistically significant populations in ME/CFS patients. With that being true, there is a concerning edge to these statements. Medical misogyny is well-documented. It has been documented in pain studies, that without processing data by sex-assigned-at-birth categories, the data is skewed.

My cheeky pumpkin says hello.
A Cinderella pumpkin with a crease where the fruit split. The support that help up the heavy squash left what looks like a thong-shaped tan line on the 2 cheeks of the produce.

Here's a submission to the #blueskyartshow theme #Vertical! Of course that makes me think of trees, but then again I usually am, haha.💚🌲💚 "Life isn't some vertical or horizontal line -- you have your own interior world, and it's not neat." - Patti Smith #trees #eastcoastkin #photography #nature
In the forest, among the trees, thats what feels like home to me. Draped in gowns of moss, glowing green, they radiate a warmth thats inviting. Below a vibrant blue sky and cotton clouds I wander admist these humble giants. Gazing up at their majesty, one cant help but feel connected to something bigger than themselves.

About 20 ears of corn ranging from white to deep maroon and very small to large. Called the Bloody Butcher variety, it ripens to colors between orange and a deep red. This is a dent or flour corn. Mature kernels get little dents in the center. Excellent for polenta.

🌱 I found 2, black swallowtail caterpillars in my garden today. They are on a celery plant. Rat away, little ones! I'm happy to share my celery.
Small, leaf green caterpillar with black spots that look a bit like eyes, filled in with yellow. It's about 1.5 inches/3.8 cm. Resting on a celery leaf a bit darker than the caterpillar. A large, bright green caterpillar. About 3 inches/7.6 cm long. It's resting on a celery leaf stem.

New, unknown fungi in a garden bed. What species do you guess or know? (3 photos of yellow, bumpy fungi by green plants & bark. Some small ones look like finger tips, medium ones are more cone shaped mushrooms, the largest have wide caps and faded color. All look fuzzy with small protrusions.)

🌱 My first Bennings Green squash of the year. NorCal is having a cool summer over all, so things are happening slowly out here. A small head of garlic for scale. The light green, fluted, flattened, round squash is about 12 inches/30.48 cm across.

🌱Desert beans update: they get a but of water every 10-14 days. This variety won't bloom and produce if over watered. There are blooms and some baby pods sets!
An A-frame trellis (made from mattress and bed frames( shows beans climbing up the trellis fabric about 2 feet. A couple squash plants are on one side. The same beds from the other end showing vibes wrapped around the frame and a near thicket of bean vines.

My dessert beans.
Small bean plants in 2 oval, metal beds topped with bed-frame trellises that have been covered with trellis material. Shadows show the photo is from around noon. Same beds, with a squash plant at the nearest end and the beans are now at least 1 foot tall. These are tepary beans from Native Seed S.E.A.R.C.H.

🌱 Hello again. #Chronic so I've been off-line for a while. Fortunately, I am still gardening, bit by bit. And my CA native beds are doing well!
Light purple frilly blooms on narrow stalks with fernlike leaves on the plants. California native Lacy Phacealia. Short plants with thicker leaves and wide, funnel-shaped blooms. The blooms are white with 5 dark purple spots spread around the edge ofvthe blooms. They are called 5 spots.

I know that sometimes working on a "micro" level and just helping individual people figure out stuff like what shower chair to get can seem like you're "not doing much" But I figure, eugenicists want disabled people to die Helping us stay alive, and suffer less, *is* important
