I have eagerly awaited the results of the Million Mito Project for a few years. (For those who don't know, it's a massive undertaking by some amazing scientists and genealogists to update the mitochondrial phylogenetic tree that classifies maternal lineage.) I'm still H1. 🙃 #GenealogySky

A medication that I take, which is non-negotiable, is still on patent for two more years so there's no generic. My cost went up by $600 a quarter at the beginning of 2025, and that's WITH insurance. 😡 How the hell can a medication go up $2,400? WTF? I'm nauseated.

I've spent a wonderful week in my hometown New Orleans, visited with family, ate a ton of excellent seafood, rode in Krewe of Muses and handed out glittered shoes, and hid from the news. I am thankful for the respite. Now, I'm headed home and back to the grind. May the good memories sustain me.

I just made an easy cauliflower soup! Toss 2 chopped heads of cauliflower, 2 cups of cashews, 1 onion, a bit of salt and pepper, and 8 cups of vegetable stock into the crock pot for 4 hours on high, until tender. Blend it. Top w/ chickpeas roasted in EVOO, smoked paprika, cumin, and garlic. YUM.
