Oooh!, Sanderson! Good choice!

iamblackrabbit @iamblackrabbit.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Probably! The Perseid meteor shower peaks right now. Its one of the largest showers of the year. The best ones are late to predawn.

Yes, its the narcissistic cult of Self.

010

iamblackrabbit @iamblackrabbit.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Yes. Its a deeply wierd meshing of nature and technology in art and literature. A kind of anti-bladerunner, anti-distopian, reverse cyberpunk movement.

You must beware of compromised social media. The compromise can come in two forms, either posts being fabricated/promoted that have a specific tone that is in line with someone's political goal or a highly biased user base. With social media 'group think' is much more likely, rationalization ceases

If the goal is to be a bit more uppity and demi-modern, Imagine Dragons, Naked and the Famous, OMAM, Maroon 5, Dua Lipa, etc. If you want to be on the edge of crying all day REN, Lewis Capaldi, Adele, and some of the other big guns.

000

iamblackrabbit @iamblackrabbit.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

however, most of these will be pretty low key with something edgy in the mid and upper registers. If you are setting the tone for laid back comfortable and nostalgic you might choose things like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Bublé, Jones, Cole, Armstrong...

Or maybe intended effect might be a better question. Example: Mellow jazzy grooves popular with all hipsters would include artists like Gotye and Kimbra, Sylvan Esso, Mazzy Star, Modest Mouse- but given you are in public would exclude songs from Sofia Isella and the like...

Fair warning, it doesnt really get moving until S1E4.

There is a whole book of Walterisms, so many are referenced in passing that only people who watched Fringe get, like "The only thing better than a cow is a human...unless you need milk then you really need a cow." JJ Abrams really put his stamp on the series, there are all sorts of funny easter eggs

010

iamblackrabbit @iamblackrabbit.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

It was good! It was definitely a niche genre that filled a void.

200

iamblackrabbit @iamblackrabbit.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

That's funny. Where does Fringe fit into that rewatch timeline?

In fact it was so deep in the sucks hard-core disappointment category, that you wanted to stick your finger through your eye, into your brain and swirl it around.

The Witches of Scotland-The Complete Series by Stephen Aitchison. It was total rubbish.

Question. Do the second six months modules have a better TTS voice or do they still sound like a bad rendition of the 1980s Ko-dan drones in The Last Starfighter?

This is based on a true story told to us by a friend of ErrantScience. It was a very VERY expensive experiment. 🚁

Switch some of those jacks out with landmines and you'd have it just about right.

Good times. The goth rock period was mighty. Kinda kicked into high gear with Metallica's S&M album and has been in steady decline since Evanescence.

There is a special circle of hell reserved just for those people... A very special hell, the same one reserved for narcissists and those people who talk during movies...

An extremely good point. There is a Researcher/Instructor by the name of Loreena Barba who has been extremely helpful and proactive on this front. journals.plos.org/plosbiology/... I have been working through her online classes. Id really like to shake this ladies hand and buy her a beer sometime.

So...here's something really awesome about McCaffrey... although she never out-and- out says it, but some of her books occur in parallel within the same universe! When you read her different series you start putting things together. Like, the B&B ships (like Helva) are also in Crystal Singer series
