Trains, tech, tinkering; list unordered. Leftie, though up to you how you'd like to define that.

Good morning @equalityhumanright.bsky.social, I'm one of those trans women you're scared of. Today I used the women's toilets, as I have for years. I understand you now consider this to be illegal. Please could you advise where I should report myself to?
The inside of the women's toilets. In the left and centre of the picture are stalls. On the right of the picture is a period products vending machine. In the background is a tall mirror.

I appear to have used this bathroom illegally, but on the other hand my local economy didn't collapse, no animals or humans were harmed in the making of this image, etc.

Hmmmmmmm, that send me down a rabbit hole. This is mentioned on Wikipedia; be curious to see if anyone can find a citation (or the law). Given the CoP §13.167 calls on service providers to erect signage to exclude trans people, could this be an avenue of relevance to legal people?
Screenshot of Wikipedia. The text reads:

Similar signage was used in South Africa during apartheid and in the United States during Jim Crow, where bus travel for example was racially segregated. Discriminating signage was also used informally in the UK, notably in signs in bed and breakfast accommodation barring Irish and blacks. Such signs are now illegal. [citation needed]

The phrase "Such signs are now illegal" is highlighted.

Pilning #pilning
A very blurry picture of Pilning railway station in South Gloucestershire. The train is running fast through this station; it does not stop here. No trains stop at Pilning on weekdays or Sundays.

Can someone confirm that if the EHRC guidance goes into force, Transport for Wales becomes responsible for ensuring I am prevented from flagging down a train at request stops in Wales? Can anyone confirm if trans men are or aren't permitted to on this basis?
A bilingual sign for a request stop in Wales, screenshot taken from a Geoff Marshall YouTube video.

A blue circular pictogram shows an exclamation mark. To its right a second circular pictogram shows a picture of a person placing their arm out horizontally, to request the train to stop. The person appears as a typically feminine pictogram, beskirted and with one leg. It is visually similar to a picture often used on toilet entry doors to indicate the women's facilities.

The English text reads:
Request stop for timetabled services. Please indicate safely to the driver that you want to get on a train.

The Welsh text reads:
Gwneud cais am stop yn un o'n gwasanaethau sydd wedi'u hamserlennu. Tynnwch sylw'r gyrrwr yn ddiogel eich bod am fynd ar drên.

Well, that settles that. Appreciate you bringing this up Jolyon. Three quid won't make much difference I'm sure, but still.
A screenshot of a banking app. It shows an existing £3 direct debit to Stonewall Equality. A dialogue box asks if I'm sure I want to cancel my direct debit.Another screenshot saying my direct debit has been deleted.
