Or maybe reaching out about this app feels frustratingly like it might not do any good. ripta.com/contact-us appears to be the right place to go and I will submit something, but this is a lot of work for an annoyance, so you can see why I grumped online instead.

To me, the point of the TOC here is to let you know that there _is_ an Introduction, Notes, and an Index. (My edition has no foreword). I can see in comparison that other edition is expanded and updated from mine. I know I can look things up by subject. And the main obvious order wastes no space.

I mean... let's look at my copy of this book that I just reached over to take off the shelf... 😂 This is how many pages I had to visit to get to the start of 1953. I am not sure that knowing the page range for the 1950s (pp. 134–301) or just 1953 (pp. 165-172) would have made it faster.

Dear indie (TTRPG, in this case) publishers: Please, *please* get ISBNs for your books. I know it's a hassle, but the struggle that potential buyers and booksellers will have finding your books (new or second-hand) in future years is way way bigger.
A pair of absolutely gorgeous books. They are hardcover, and their covers have black and white printing and light embossing over a marbled background. The one on the left shows printed in black a stone obelisk in a circle with white printed lightning striking from above. The one on the right shows printed in black a tree in a circle with white printed roots reaching far below.

I kept everyone up entirely too late last night playing the Beautiful Game*. We lost, dramatically. (*Nemesis)
A table set up with the Nemesis board game. Most of the ship has been discovered. The photo is from the position of the Captain, who has lost the use of both arms. There is noise everywhere. Numerous alien bodies are scattered around. Part of the ship is on fire. One alien is fighting the Scientist while the Captain is in the next room (the airlock control). The Pilot is on her own on the other side of the ship. There are five rounds left before the ship goes to warp.

Almost time to begin my read-through Cherryh! Starting with Gate of Ivrel. It's been quite a while since I've read many of her older works, and I am really looking forward to this.
Three mass-market paperback novels side by side on a black background, all by C.J. Cherryh. From left to right: "Gate of Ivrel", "Well of Shiuan", and "Fires of Azeroth". The three are obviously connected, as the cover art for each shows a sword-and-sorcery style white-haired woman with a white cape and a sword and a young man as a retainer.

Over the course of the three covers their clothing and equipment becomes slightly more practical.

I assume you've read Port Eternity, then? ☺️
The cover of Port Eternity by C.J. Cherryh. Two men stand next to each other (or the same man?) one in a space suit, the other in shining armor, both with appropriate helmets. In the background is a castle with its base in a bank of clouds. The back of a book, with text:

CJ. CHERRYH

Their names were Lancelot, Elaine, Percivale, Gawain, Modred, Lynette and Vivien, but they were not characters from legend. They were made people, clone servants designed to suit the fancy of their opulent owner, the Lady Dela Kirn. And they worked aboard the Maid, an anachronistic fantasy of a spaceship, decorated with swords, heraldic banners, old-looking beams masking the structural joinings, and lamps that mimicked live flame.

They lived in a kind of dream, and had no idea of their origins, their prototypes in those old, old story tapes of romance, chivalry, heroism and betrayal.
Until a wandering instability, a knot in time, a ripple in the between sucked them into a spatial no-man's-land from where there seemed to be no escape. And they were left alone, with the borrowed personas of their ancient namesakes, to face a crisis those venerable spirits were never designed to master!
