If I’m talking formative albums. Here ya go. (I should’ve snuck Pure Moods 1 and Loreena McKennitt’s “the book of secrets” on there.)

9 albums that are formative to my sound

Frances the Mute by the Mars Volta

De-loused in the Comatorium by the Mars Volta

Act II by the Dear Hunter

I know I’ve said it a lot but I really adore Dylan Faden in Control:Resonant 🥹

I cannot believe I have more CONTROL:Resonant to play because what I just experienced made me go “fuck yeah video games”. Not sure if it was this game’s “ashtray maze” but damn.

Why is “rose colored lenses” my fav Miley song?

I have a friend who is going and I’ll just give him money to get me merchandise. That’s mostly what I want. Is the merch.

I’m very happy I saw symphony of the goddess twice during its run because this Zelda 40th concert shit sucks lol.

I didn’t realize Mike Flanagan’s Carrie series debuts next week 🥹 I loved the fall of the house of usher so much. Can’t wait to dive into his adaptation of carrie.

Yeah. Castlevania Belmonts curse on switch 2 is nice. I wish there was a switch 2 version. But I’ll def pick up a physical copy on switch when it comes out. No idea when I’ll get to it though. I love/hate this fall-winter release game schedule. And mine doesn’t even have GTA 6 included in it 🤢

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Belmonts curse is pretty promising! Even if it just feels like dead cells lol

My principal’s experience is with middle school and she found me eating lunch and she was like I wanna commend you how you keep up with the little ones. (She’s still figuring it out).

060

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

lol. The principal has been in my room all day. And I’m glad this isn’t my first rodeo cause I’d be nervous AF. But I kinda just forgot she was here. She was just observing my friend that struggled with being safe with their body. But yeah. From 8:30 to 11 😭.

Another day of feeling frazzled. But the superintendent adores me. And my students were drawing blood moons near the end of the day and they were talking about BotW and TotK

1170

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

lol. Not me tearing up and getting goosebumps listening to the Gaga Mayhem live album. Mad respect to her and everyone else that changes things up to their music to where it doesn’t feel like the studio album on play. It’s such a disappointment when I see someone live and that’s what it feels like

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Having a hard time being motivated to go In today BUT I know I’m a pillar of safety to someone and that’s what makes me show up.

3140

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I haven’t progressed the main story mission in CONTROL:Resonant since the opening of the game 🤣. Just been exploring and side questing and killing Resonants.

Had to look up what Mythic Achievements were and that’s a hard pass lol.

My classroom had to be evacuated due to safety and then my room was trashed. And the principal had to help me put it back together. It’s raining outside. It’s been a chaotic day. The principal looked at me directly and said please don’t think anything that’s happened is a reflection of you.

Just signed a contract until end of Jan. No more time sheets to fill out. Instead of 200 a day I’m at 437 dollars a day. Now to just save all this money I’ll be making so we aren’t in crisis when I don’t have a job after January. 😌

I was very unaware that the director for Control:Resonant has said that the Evangelion series inspired the game. No wonder why I’m all like 👀🥹🙌

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Just killed my third boss in Control:Resonant. This is some good shit yall. Another GOTY on my list.

1120

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Control:Resonant peeps. Ran into a bug and it seems to be known. But the side quest “the complete set” has a bug at the end of it and it may render you unable to complete it. Had to quit the game and fast travel out of the area and go back in order for the prompt to appear to complete.

Drop an album that was important to you when you were 19 MCR’s “The Black Parade”. It’s still pretty important to me just in different ways now but what an album to have during my freshman year of college. Famous Last Words is one hell of a closing track too.

I either need to just find a gym (planet fitness is really the only thing near me) that I’d be ok going to. Or buy an inexpensive exercise bike to just use at home. I cannot decide on anything. But I just know I need to shed some pounds. I do not like being 220. 😔

16 dollars for one of the best games/stories ever made Dang.

Need more male protags in big video games like Dylan Faden. I’m usually meh on male protags cause none of them ever feel relatable. But Dylan does.

The 2nd boss I encountered in Control:Resonant was so good! This has got to be one of the most interesting open world-ish designs I’ve experienced since BotW, TotK and Elden Ring.

150

Ian @hylian.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

It’s mostly an observation but Control:Resonant’s map is confusing me just as much as the first game’s map 🤣 It’s making me laugh.
