After Israel-Ireland, the next flashpoint is Slovenia U21 vs Israel U21s. Slovenia are equally not fans of the Israeli state and, with the game due to happen in Ptuj, a local government official has called for the game to be moved/cancelled. In unequivocal fashion.

Serbian Superliga breaks up for winter the week before. Zvezda players would have to miss it but, bulked up by the MLS cohort, and I’d put a fiver on Serbia being the opponents in that one. Slovenia would also sync up with that one. Both have done random winter break friendlies in the past

OFK are the latest in trouble over a Mladic minute's silence. Only they and Zvezda (OFK are Zvezda's farm club) held one and neither were sanctioned by the FA so both will be charged by the FA over this. Sportklub report both Partizan and IMT (the away sides in those games) will also be charged...

To add to the Veciti Derbi fallout, apparently Crvena Zvezda didn’t tell Partizan in advance they would do the minute’s silence for Mladic. Protocol is that both sides agree this with the FA which, as Partizan were unaware of it, couldn’t happen. That’s not the bad bit…
