Your pregens have to be so well written with the plot that the session just plays itself. Almost as if everything was a well executed rehearsed play, while having the player doing seemingly improv.

One day, I played a Maid RPG session at a convention and the plot was Rocky Horror Picture Show. I was the only player at the table that had seen the movie. That was so funny.

That's the thing. Starting a campaign with people I'd play with for 10+ years, we skipped the session zero. And it was a wreck. So was the next campaign. Strangely, when the setting and game expectations, so are the players. Don't let experience fool you. Unless you only play D&D.

Session zero is not about the game. It's about what the group of players want to play and what the GM wants to run. And make sure it all fit. You know, the social contract.

That's the problem with modern D&D. A Dragon bites your ass? Chug a potion or call the heal bot. A lake of lava? Oh I can swim for 5 minutes at crazy speed. I'll teleport you from there. No trauma, no conséquences. This has become such a parody of OSD&D.

Give them a "bonus". It all depends on the game or the system. Sometimes, I let them narrate after the roll, and depending on the result and the narration, they'll get some momentum.

All of the above? It depends a lot on the setting, the people I play with, the character too. But roleplayers with a dash of tactician is probably mostly me. And not tactician "maps & minis", but more mastermind.

C'est surtout que le JdR a été créé pour supporter les JV depuis Fallout 3. Donc oui, le JdR est fidèle au matériaux d'origine. Pour la série, elle suit de très près le lore écrit par les créateurs du JV (les différents Vaults, leur structure, et aussi les forces en présence).

@tabcreations.com I wonder what it would yake to make a solo engine for the #SagaMachine system. Generic part, then specific oracles for each game (capitalizing on all the #RandomTables in each books of course). Because it has become my favorite system I have no one to play with. #TTRPG #NotD&D

This weekend, I created a 10 pages generic TTRPG inspired by Not the End, Cortex Plus/Prime, PbtA, Drakonym, and a couple others. Today, I'm starting a web platform that would allow solo players to enjoy it. Just another project of the week? Ask me next Monday 😅

Je réfléchis à un système avec des gens super spécialisé, mais où chaque action a un prix et sur la durée des sacrifices doivent être fait. Pour du solo, donc pas forcément sur de longues campagnes. Donc je saisis bien l'impact sur le one-shot (quelque soit la longueur).

Et y'a le contrat social. Si tes joueurs n'ont pas compris dans quoi ils mettaient les pieds, c'est chaud. Et y'a la volonté de jouer différemment. Je ne joue qu'en solo parce que j'en ai marre des gens qui n'aiment que leur jeu/univers dans la 17è version et ne sortent pas de leur zone de confort

J'avais il y a 5 minutes une discussion sur le jeu Triangle Agency. Je disais que j'avais adoré la lecture, et que j'adorerais jouer, mais qu'en tant que meneur, ça serait dur. Une table (tradi, avec MJ), c'est une proposition de jeu encadrée par 1 pour plusieurs.
