Those recruiting restrictions look more like Kirk gave himself some vacation days.

It says a bunch of generic stuff about improving service but also mentions new brands and improving image. I doubt new leadership want to loudly dive into that right off the bat. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t change but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they did pivot back a bit quietly.

I would say kind of- they were suggesting they want a change in direction and they want to recapture/rehab their image… well, how would they go about doing that? Hopefully rolling back the bad stuff?

If they did try to undo the damage isn’t that a good thing though? In some places the choice is still largely Amazon, Walmart, or Target, and accordingly I would welcome Target being less awful. Costco remains king whenever available of course.

He has all the tools and can make some amazing throws- my two complaints about him are his lack of pocket presence and his lack of speed. He will likely do better at Oregon though.

I’ve heard they have a different contract that he will sign if Moore goes pro.

He’s no burner but compared to Raiola he is much more mobile. Raiola might have been the slowest QB in the Big Ten.

Given that Moore might be the second QB off the board I’d be a little surprised if he came back, but Oregon does have that Nike money.

This does surprise me a bit given that Oregon generally requires/values QB mobility.

I watched the first Nebraska possession and I see no need to watch the rest of the game.

The SEC is 2-6 in the postseason now and their only win over a P4 team is from when the SEC played another SEC team. Times are tough when everyone else gets to openly pay their players too.

My take today is the same as it was ten years ago when these stories started coming out. Why on earth should someone’s politics/worldview NOT be a huge part of your evaluation of them? It’s difficult to the think of something more appropriate to judge a person by!

It really was though! It caused a team schism the next year because so many of the players wanted to go and they viewed the people who didn’t want to go as “uncommitted” - which was actually probably true because a ton of the players who voted no transferred in the spring.

I mean some players actually like playing the sport! It’s not all a business decision!

Honestly it would make sense for his pro stock. He could post way better numbers in Big 12 weather and against Big 12 defenses. He also played football for four different high schools in four years and changed his recruiting commitment three times. He hops around.

I would say there is a 90% chance he leaves and if so it would come this week, maybe today. I’ve heard rumors of Texas Tech and Oregon, but who knows. When Dayton Raiola decommitted it raised an eyebrow, when they fired his uncle as OL coach it made me fairly certain it was a done deal.

Welllllll Utah is favored by 14 and my honest assessment is that I’d still take Utah so probably not unfortunately. Going out to see a real game is one thing, going out to see my depleted team get absolutely dog walked is another.

I bet there are some- Nebraska voted to not go to a bowl game in the weird Covid season and it was like 55/45. Some of the players still complain about it today. I would guess that across CFB more players would want to play in a bowl than not.

Huskerteer @huskerteer.bsky.social · 08/12/2025
I didn’t know they voted, but I know a lot of players do enjoy going to bowls. I have directly spoken to one who said he loved them. For him at least, the bowls weren’t a scam. He was never going to go pro.

Huskerteer @huskerteer.bsky.social · 07/12/2025
Are they scams? What about players who actually enjoy playing the game? They get a trip and a prize package and- for all the upperclassmen players who aren’t going pro- one last time to get on the field.

To be fair they aren’t buying the whole company, they’re mostly buying the directly competition brand and the intellectual property. It actually seems like a smart business deal to me? My guess is that Netflix just gets bigger, HBO is swept into the dustbin of history, and Netflix slowly ups prices

So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way: 1. Pecan: Always good 2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad. 3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up
