Here is a list alphabetical order top to bottom of the cities/islands average hit dates by hurricanes after the height of the season, everything shifts east for the U.S. The question is are we even go to get a hurricane this year much less impact land.

Hurricane Melissa wind field as it was approaching Jamaica. I do this for each significant hurricane next to the state of Florida for size comparison, had a very small hurricane wind field. On this page it is clickable to the NHC advisory showing the size. hurricanecity.com/howbig.htm

Invest 98L to be named Melissa today at that point the Euro will be added. So far these are the best track performers suggesting this will go further west. At this time only a few ensemble members of all the models have this flirting with Florida. Will the GFS be right taking this over Hispaniola?

Jim Williams @hurricanecity.com · 10/09/2025
Height of hurricane season only matters when it comes to hits. This graph shows the 139 cities in the HC database and the time period most likely to be hit by a hurricane.

Models have helped to improve the NHC track and intensity forecast's the cuts of forecasters working on the models may pause this progress.

New Addition to hurricanecity.com/cities.htm here is an example using my home base Delray beach, FL notice the "I" named storm has affected the city more than any other. A foot note "I" is the most popular in database followed by "D" then "E" named storms in Atlantic basin.

Better news for Florida regarding what will become Sara. Most of the models now have Sara tangling with the Yucatan but if it slides east a whole different scenario with a much stronger system but the trend has been west.
