October Horror Fest Day 11: Hokum Meant to see it in theaters. Pretty good except for the protagonist being both an idiot and a jerk. But it's Adam Scott, so he's charming enough to counter that. Really felt like that role was built for David Tennant though.

October Horror Fest Day 10: Caveat Definitely spooky, and plot did not go where I thought it would at all. Interesting mix of genres. The ending does make you go 'hmm, okay' though.

October Horror Fest Day 9: New Life Not a horror movie, basically a thriller. Technically a zombie movie, but zombies barely appear and aren't the point. But still a pretty good movie. Scenarios and acting are pretty believable. The zombies DO look good.

October Horror Fest Day 8: Lord of Misrule Actually a pretty good folk horror movie. Slow paced, but there's always something happening. Interesting ending, definitely recommend.

October Horror Fest Day 7: The Monster Within The monster itself looks pretty okay, but the rest of the movie, ouch. It's basic, the acting is largely wooden, the plot unresolved. It's a huge mess. At least there was a little eye candy, haha.

October Horror Fest Day 6: The Inheritance (2024) Very basic plot, by the numbers, but done fairly well. No surprises anywhere, and a little disappointed with the visuals of the final thingy. But decently acted, and executed well enough.

October Horror Fest Day 5: Osiris A mish-mash of Predator (but backwards), Aliens, with a little Planet of the Apes thrown in. It's uninspired and just a bunch of blah strapped together. The actors are trying but the characters are paper thin.

October Horror Fest Day 2: Strange Frequencies - Taiwan Killer Hospital A decent found footage. Nothing extraordinary, but the effects were decent. Still kinda hated all the characters. But a Filipino take on the genre was at least something new to me. Not quite as tight as Gonjiam though.

October Horror Fest Day 1: Control Freak Yes it's back, using that title again for easier muting. There's a good message in this movie but it's very busy. And you don't need to explain every metaphor people. Rides that line of 'mental illness or actual curse' for a long time. But pretty well.
