Thank you for spreading the word!

Yeah, that was bad timing for sure.

It would be nice to let people actually be able to find specific games they're looking for but alo have the benefit of the Retro category's exposure at the same time. I don't see a downside for Twitch or streamers!

110

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Agreed! I stream exclusively in the Retro category because I play a lot of niche stuff that not many people follow specifically, but everyone seems excited to stumble upon. I'm sure there's an untapped benefit as a streamer and also for Twitch if people can actually find stuff they're looking for!

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

As a Retro game streamer on Twitch, I've always wanted to be able to choose the general Retro category and a second game category. Right now it's one or the other, limiting discoverability. If you like this idea as a viewer or fellow streamer, vote for it! twitch.uservoice.com/forums/31021...

What a funny edit! If you play Magician, I hope you'll let me know how it goes. I'd love to know if you end up enjoying it more than I did.

110

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

It's extremely charming! Agreed! There's definitely lots of good in it but it's rough around many of its edges. It's worth trying out to see if you like it though!

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I finally got around to playing Magician for NES. It's one of the most ambitious games I've played on the console and really enjoyed discovering how many ways there were to meet an untimely end. Here's my thoughts! Enjoy! youtu.be/WQvWDVALGOw

I'd be really curious to see if that's possible, but I doubt it. I love new releases to old hardware though! I'd buy one for sure!

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I'm sure the remake will be fantastic. It seems like the devs are really excited to go out with a bang after a long career.

Yessss! It's awesome seeing great games get rereleased for new generations to enjoy.

It's wonderful to see someone so passionate about their body of work. I'm so excited to see how the remake turns out.

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I was pretty floored to be included in this. The Battle of Olympus is easily a top 5 NES game for me. I can't wait to see you play it!

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

My heart just about burst when I saw it too. I'm so honoured!

020

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

This is so cool! I never saw much video game magazine stuff until I was an adult but I can imagine how ensnaring something like this would've been as a kid with your interests.

010

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Agreed! It deserves way more credit for being beautiful, well-translated, and really enjoyable. I love the soundtrack too!

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Me too! This is one of the games I'd put close to the top of my favourite NES games, right up there with Faxanadu. It's so good!

I have Super Show and Mario 3 on DVD. I Should really rewatch them all. The boot is the best 💜

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

I remember watching it mostly for the Zelda cartoon segments. I loved the Mario stuff too but for some reason, none of it stuck to my memory much.

hungrygoriya @hungrygoriya.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Wow! I don't remember this at all!

Yay! I've really enjoyed flipping through some of the other map books (including the original NES/Famicom one from many years ago) so it's nice to see an expanded version coming out now. I'm sure it'll be lovely. Enjoy it!

This is a very exciting announcement! I wrote a little blurb for this book and am looking forward to seeing what everyone else had to say about these awesome classics. Check this out!

You know your community best! I'm always sad when I see people discouraging others from striving for what they want, regardless of their reasoning. No two people's journeys are the same.
