Not caring does not equal being a bad person. Or being any particular political leaning. Many people don’t care because they live in a fucked up society where they are forced to live in survival mode day to day. They don’t have the time or energy to care about anything else. So, fuck off.

… special and important enough that I was speaking directly to you. Get over yourself. Plus, in your haste to be self righteous and an internet hero, you didn’t even take a few seconds to engage your brain and actually think about the ramifications of the discussion.

And? You haven’t actually provided anything other than a as “nuh-uh!” response. There is a combination of people who didn’t vote or voted for Trump that is a large majority. And then there is you, being righteously offended and centering yourself presumably because your felt like you are…

And don’t get me wrong. I do think the best possible course of action would be for the rest of the world to band together and neuter the US. The US is the largest vector of evil in the world right now. I just don’t see either the will to do so or a plan that doesn’t lead to world war 3.

You mean the same ones that kiss Trump’s ass and make fake deals to appease his delusions? That send strongly worded letters when he invades sovereign countries and kidnaps their president? Don’t kid yourself. Someday the US will fall. Until then, they’re too dangerous to antagonize.

Do I hope that we’ll rise above it all and evolve into a peaceful, cooperative global society? Of course. Do I think we will? Absolutely not.

As George Carlin once said, I’m just along for the ride now. Human beings are fucked and we deserve it. Unfortunately, a lot of innocent and decent people will also suffer. Not to mention an unimaginable amount of non human suffering.

I despise the country the US is now. But your fantasy is just that: a fantasy. The world of international interdependency is way more complicated and you posit a delusional belief in a world that never existed and a US that would meekly accept being marginalized into a has been.

You’d have to be willfully ignorant at this point to give the US any benefit of the doubt. And the shooting war, as I said, would be started by the US if somehow, as you advocated for, the rest of the world attempted to neuter them economically. I’m not advocating for any of this.

A ruling class that doesn’t give two shits about the lives and welfare of its troops or civilians. They’ll happily fight to the last drop of everyone else’s blood. They’ll starve the population to feed the military industrial complex. The US has military bases all over the world for staging.

humanpassenger.bsky.social @humanpassenger.bsky.social · 05/01/2026
I mean, you only have to look at history, both recent and older, for your answers. The US has an obviously compliant military and a stockpile of weapons greater than the rest of the world combined. A history of wars where the military was sent into obvious losing situations and still went.

I’m not sure how you got from what I said to your diatribe, but you do you.

Instead, they’re playing a longer game of slowly bleeding out the US to maintain global stability. They’re not gonna risk that over Taiwan. They just have to wait. They’re winning the economic/diplomatic war.
100
humanpassenger.bsky.social @humanpassenger.bsky.social · 05/01/2026
And the alliances and neutralities in that war wouldn’t play out in their favor. Especially after they crashed the global economy.
110
humanpassenger.bsky.social @humanpassenger.bsky.social · 05/01/2026
In theory, yes. But China hasn’t done it yet because 1) that would crash the global economy too and 2) they would still lose a shooting war against the US and that’s exactly what would happen if you turned a vengeful rogue state like the US into a wounded animal.

humanpassenger.bsky.social @humanpassenger.bsky.social · 04/01/2026
Mostly true. If the US turns Canada and Mexico into enemies, though, they’re suddenly surrounded and have to fight a war on multiple fronts. They can’t win a conventional war like that. And then we get into nuclear weapons and everyone is fucked.

Oh, yes, democratic leadership is an oxymoron. Useless trash weasels disconnected from consequences who only care about their cash flow and tiny amount of power. “Republicans are killing your parents and children for handouts from rich pedophiles” would be a far more effective headline.

It’s legal in US law if granted a declaration of war by Congress. It’s always illegal in international law. Half the world doesn’t give a shit. None of it matters if it’s not enforced and there’s no enforcement action possible against the US except world war. Clear as mud.

They’ve avoiding this for a long time for multiple reasons, one of which is China world take horrific causalities even without US involvement and it would weaken them. Attacking well fortified islands is a bad idea. It’s more likely they’d try and starve them out.

Russia has its hands full already. They’ll sit this one out and let their enemies go at it. Israel is the country to watch out for. They’ll use the opportunity to try and conquer as much of the Middle East as they can.

The Americans tipped the balance, for sure. But Germany likely would have won if Hitler wasn’t a megalomaniac and listened to his generals. Sounds likely someone else know…

That’s not true, though. Plenty of the base is mad. But the party itself protects its own, so it doesn’t really matter. And we’re locked into a two party system that ferociously squashes any attempt at a third party. The real lesson is that we’re an oligarchy.

NATO stipulates that all member states come to the defense of any member that is attacked. So if Trump attacks Mexico, forget about US membership in NATO; he’s declaring war on the entire alliance. A war the US can’t win. But neither can anyone else; everyone loses.

They’re all illegal. Can we retire the old “someone else did a bad thing so it’s okay if my guy does it too” argument already? The legality doesn’t really matter if it isn’t enforced, but that’s an entirely different point.

Trump is dying. Just look at him; he’s got maybe a year left due to having the best possible medical care but anyone else is that kind of shape would be in hospice. No, he’s just rushing all this so he can fulfill his Rambo fantasties before dying.

To be fair, you can say that about pretty much all Christians. There are vanishingly few societies where you could stay out of prison if you strictly followed the Bible. Christianity, and all religion, is a social construct; it changes and adapts to the society around it.

Do you know how many different sects of Christianity there are? The phrase “real Christian” has no meaning. And precisely none of them are the same as early Christianity, which is supposedly based on the infallible word of God.

at the event horizon, so we on earth wouldn’t really notice much. In our relative frame time wouldn’t change at all. We wouldn’t get spaghettified until we were much closer to the singularity (or whatever really is at the center of a black hole).

humanpassenger.bsky.social @humanpassenger.bsky.social · 19/12/2025
That’s some crazy stuff that goes on with supermassive black holes. To someone watching from a distance it would appear the earth moved slower and slower and then basically froze in time. For a sufficiently massive black hole, the tidal forces wouldn’t be that noticeable…

Earth, most likely. That’s our frame of reference. And since we’re moving relatively slowly in the grand scheme of things, it’s fairly representative of most non-exotic astronomical objects.

It’ll be done badly because they’re utterly incompetent but also on purpose so they can then turn around and say nothing in the files can be trusted to be real. And that’s their real goal: to muddy the waters enough to convince people that there is no such thing as reality anymore.
000
humanpassenger.bsky.social @humanpassenger.bsky.social · 19/12/2025
I think it’s quite obvious what’s going to happen: they’ll release a collection of files that include all that don’t implicate Trump, redact a bunch of stuff on “national security grounds”, disappear anything really incriminating, and add some fake ones in implicating prominent democrats/liberals.
