A micro wedding can still have BIG scenery. It could be just what you're looking for. With fewer guests, you can focus on your partner, your closest people, and the moments that matter most to you, and choose a setting that wouldn't work for a larger crowd.

He was a humanist. He was a Goodie. Thank you, Bill, for everything. He died this week at the age of 85, and will be sorely missed. It was his request to have a humanist funeral. We love his song choices, too.

A humanist funeral ceremony focuses on the life that was lived, the relationships created, and the memories they leave behind.
Humanist funerals offer a unique and personal way to say goodbye to those who weren’t religious. They honour the person who has died with a non-religious ceremony, focusing on the life they led and the relationships they created, reflecting on the individual they were.

Thinking that a humanist ceremony sounds right for you but not quite sure what humanism is? Humanism is a non-religious approach to life that has been found throughout time and across the world in many different cultures. #Humanist
Humanists believe that this is the only life we have, that the universe is a natural phenomenon, and that we can live ethical lives based on reason and empathy. Humanists look to science and evidence to discover truths and place human happiness and the welfare of animals at the centre of their ethical decision-making.

This quote from Terry Pratchett, shared in The Little Book of Humanist Funerals, offers a great reflection on how a person lives on, not through an afterlife, but through the lasting impact they leave in the world and on others.
Book page reads: “In the Ramtop village where they dance the real Morris dance, for example, they believe that no one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away — until the clock he wound up winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life, they say, is only the core of their actual existence".
