Looking back at this painting, I am quite unsatisfied with it. And I remember being happy right after finishing it. Som people say that “being disappointed in previous work is a sign of growth”. Dunno about that.
An oil painting of Rem, a dragon, making a call. He has somewhat distressed expression as if making calls is uncomfortable for him. Rem doesn’t have his glasses on him.

Here, I wanted to try to use more muted colours in the palette: yellow ochre, ultramariene and burnt sienna. All of them are much more opaque compared to other stuff that I have which makes painting a bit easier. #art
An acrylic painting of a orange-red bipedal dragon with bright yellow wings and blue neck, horns and hands. They are looking to the left, mouth half-open, a little confused and maybe even irritated. This is a cropped photo imitating a scanned picture.

One of rare moments where uneven lighting helps me. This drawing was photographed upside-down with lamp shining above. I then rotated it in post and further emphasized the hotspot. Maybe it would be a good idea to use reflective paint as “light sources” in future paintings #art
A pencil drawing of two dragons. One is noble-looking, with a crown and jewelry. He is slender and has elegant and smooth features. He looks down on the second dragon, softly smiling, but his pose hides discomfort. The other one is ugly, with wrinkles and spots everywhere. He looks very involved. His left paw is wrapped across the noble’s chest, as he quietly delivers a warning.

One of my favourite paintings. While painting this, I finally figured out how to achieve more brilliant yellow and orange colours. I miss the simplicity of digital art, but at the same time it feels so rewarding to have a physical painting.
An acrylic painting of a winged dragon in yellow and orange colours. The dragon is seen from side and has a neutral expression. There are some bright blue and pink brushstrokes for additional variety of colours. The same painting, but fotographed at an angle. Light reflects of a matte surface, showing the texture created by brushstrokes

I kind of dismissed Bluesky at first, but it seems like it will be here for a while. So, It is a good opportunity to make something like a year retrospective. Here, I wanted to use my tube of gold-colored acrylic. I bought it years ago and rarely used. Turns out, a golden signature looks quite nice
An acrylic portrait of a blue dragon with frills. Their eyes and tips of the frills are painted with a golden paint. Their expression is somewhat sad and maybe exhausted. The same painting, but photographed at an angle, showing light reflecting off of the golden paint.

I wasn’t expecting very much from Bluesky

I honestly don’t understand why #hashtags are used here.

Finally finished this one. I kind of forgot how to watercolour and didn’t plan very well, so the lighting is a bit inconsistent. Nevertheless, I’m very satisfied with the result
A watercolour painting of E. Fuchs, an anthropomorphic fox, in a fantasy setting. She wears two skirts, green and brown, a green overcoat and a yellowish shirt. She has a small pouch on her right side, which she covers lightly with her right hand. On her right side, there is a small knife.

Iterating further
An inked drawing of E. Fuchs in fantasy clothing. She wears two skirts, a short overcoat with a shirt underneath. On her belt, there is a small pouch and a tiny knife.

Traced the drawing on different paper and coloured it with watercolour. I actually forgot how to work with them, so it looks pretty desaturated. Maybe I’ll try this again tomorrow.

“It is easy to mistake a castle servant for a noble because of the way they dress and behave. They are treated with respect, but the slightest mistake can cost them their lives. This may be the reason why Amber Castle is the safest place in the Northern Region.” This is transparent paper and liners
Drawing of E. Fuchs in a fantasy costume with many details. The drawing is done on a transparent paper with felt tip liners. Fuchs wears two skirts, a short overcoat and a shirt. She looks to the right with a neutral expression.Closeup photo of previous drawing showing Fuchs’ upper torso.Closeup photo of previous drawing showing Fuchs’ lower torso and skirts.

I’m continuing to experiment with tracing my own art in Inkscape. I think the coloured one is worse than the original sketch 🤔 Lacks textures and finer details.

I am almost out of this toned paper. I don’t like it, but I’m very stubborn and want to use it all before switching back to plain white A4 paper which I had a lot of. This drawing is from September 2023.
A gouache painting of a blue wingless dragon without background on a toned paper. They are floating in the air passively, contemplating their existence.

A photo study I did in September. I honestly have no idea how I managed to make this color combination work. It probably was a lot of trial and error.

Of all my recent artworks, this one I like the most
An acrylic painting of a group of six colourful dragons together. Two in the foreground look a little worried, while other four in the background are having fun.A detail photo of a gray dragon looking to the right. Their nose didn’t fit into the page. Their eyes are bright-orange.A detail photo of three dragons in the background. The pink one is smiling deviously, the green one is happy, and their eyes are closed, the turquoise one is kind of worried.

After endless struggle with Krita and digital art, I decided to drop the latter altogether and switch fully to traditional. I’m going to give it another chance and from time to time colour my sketches in Inkscape.
A coloured charcoal sketch of Rem, a dragon, who stands in a middle of a laboratory room. He wears his light-green jumpsuit and glasses. His pose expresses submission and weakness. Behind him, you can see a computer and various technical appliances.

This drawing takes too much time, which I don’t really have. It is more important for me to establish more scenes and interactions between my beloved furry characters than to polish each and every sketch to the perfection. I’d rather come back to it later.
An acrylic painting of two of my characters: E. Fuchs, a fox, and Rem, a dragon. They both are in the Fuchs’ kitchen. Fuchs wears an apron and holds her phone in her hand while looking at Rem and smiling cunningly. Rem wears a white shirt and holds a cupboard open while glancing over at Fuchs.
The context of the situation is up to interpretation.Detail photo of the painting showing Fuchs’ head.Detail photo of the painting showing Rem’s head

I’m surprised that some stupid handles are still available. For once, I don’t have to be creative

Hello! I was reluctant to join, but curiosity won in the end. Starting with the most recent acrylic painting of Sasha, my original character. The choice of clothing is due to the prompt list from months ago.
Acrylic painting of Sasha, an anthropomorphic deer, sitting on a bar stool naked. There is only a bandana on their head. Sasha’s pose is tense, with their arms crossed on their chest, the right leg crossed under the left.Detail photo of the painting, showing Sasha’s head with the red bandana on it.Detail photo of the painting, showing Sasha’s hips and belly.
