Met you once in DC years ago, for like 10 seconds? 😁 Didn't have a clue back then that you made history today.

I like the positive tone - even shared the graph with the kids; but I also share the sentiment of a depressing future, as it seems the future is out of our own respective choices, for the moment, at least.

The future is a web of branching paths, and each choice opens up new possibilities as it closes others. This is as true for a civilization as it is for an individual. The more our collective intelligence can inform each choice, the better our chances of finding paths through to a beautiful future.
graphic of branching lifelines, with the path taken traced through it. past paths no longer in play are greyed out, possible future paths spread out like a network of roots in front

Our latest 2025032500 release greatly improved our built-in network-based location. It's usually better than Google's network-based location in urban areas where Apple has competitive data. Unlike Google's service, position estimation is done locally by fetching location data for nearby networks.

I have a hostile attitude towards IoT devices in general, even including smart thermostat. It's just me. I know. Not only from a security perspective, but also from the perspective that the more "smart" the devices are, the more stupid I will become (one day). AI is the worst in this regard.

The blockchain as a technology is still in its infancy. What it can become will democraticize money and information it carries. So there is intrinsic value which has been overwhelmingly overshadowed by the meme coins and the politics around it. The left should have the wisdom to decouple the two.

Scams have no left vs right label; crypto wasn't either, until its supporters fall to the side who listen to them. Crypto is not (all) meme coins, it has the potential to democraticize money and information carried along with the blockchain. The left carries a closed mind in this case.

Like I told you to "huffing your own farts"? I never tried to make that as my point. I tried to defend the left in all other places. But the moment I said something not mainstream of the left, it gets attacked by someone like you. Left vs right, they are all the same angry bunch people.

Guns hurt other people; shitcoins don't but the gamblers themselves. Who are you to tell them not to (hurt themselves)? In the process of depressing risk taking, the democrats become the parents keep telling a teenager not to drink. Not wrong, but so f annoying. Just want to explain the sentiment.

Or "The left becomes the conservatives in the space of crypto ... for lacking a vision of change and an appetite for taking risk." We can go on and on... 😁

huhaha @huhaha.com · 25/03/2025
Mark, thank you for pushing the topic on crypto in this place. The left needs to take a hard look if they have been too timid, even hostile towards change and risk taking.
010
huhaha @huhaha.com · 25/03/2025
You are not wrong, Mark. The left becomes the conservatives in the space of crypto - the same reason that they lost the election for lacking a vision of change and an appetite for taking risk. So many comments here proved my point.
