Hugo @hugorcd.com · 30/09/2026Rebuilding Nuxi with Rive. The current Nuxi is "hand-made": every expression is SVG and animations coded one by one (with a lot of AI help, to be fair). It works, but it's complex and a pain to reuse anywhere else. 2181
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 29/09/2026GitHub tools now works with Jev from Typesafeai on Vercel AI Gateway. Jev picks the right preset and decides which writes need a human. Across 12 real GitHub tasks: 34% cheaper, 42% fewer input tokens, half the approval prompts, every task still passing. 111
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 25/09/2026Evi can now work on any repo where its GitHub app is installed. I asked it to improve the evlog instrumentation of my portfolio. A few minutes later, the PR was up: score 47 → 100 and every handler instrumented, checked in a fresh sandbox. But this is the first real step towards evlog.cloud! 050
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 19/09/2026It's just an evlog plugin. One file, one line. Nothing is built yet, this is an experiment. 010
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 19/09/2026Same for agents. LLM-as-judge in prod gets sampled at a few % because of cost. What if every turn carried a verdict: resolved, looping, off-script? Not a replacement for evals. A screen that tells you which turns deserve one. 110
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 19/09/2026Tail sampling only keeps what you can write a predicate for. status: 200, order: null gets deleted with the other 95%. A signal can promote it. When it keeps catching the same thing, you turn it into a rule. Signals discover, rules enforce. 110
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 19/09/2026LLMs return paragraphs. You can't GROUP BY a paragraph. Jev doesn't generate text. You give it a state and typed questions, it returns a choice, a score or a probability, each with a confidence. That's not a summary. It's a column. 110
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 19/09/2026What does observability look like when a judgment costs nothing? I'm exploring Signals for evlog.dev, built on Jev by @typesafeai. Describe a column in plain English. Every wide event gets it: typed, with a confidence. 1130
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 18/09/2026A little over a month late, but the first brick is finally in place. One year at @vercel.com. I’m writing about what a year here actually looks like: the work, the mission, the people. Can’t wait to share it! 080
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 17/09/2026Agents are really good at writing Markdown. What if Markdown wasn’t the output, but the material? 010
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 10/09/2026evlog is growing way faster than I expected and there's so much I want to build. I just set up an Open Collective so I can invest back into it. Keeping everything running, and being able to bring people in to work on this with me. Any support would mean a lot. opencollective.com/evlog 0101
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 28/08/2026Grouping logs into wide events before sending them can save you a lot on aggregation costs. You can now estimate how much you could save by using evlog evlog.dev/reference/cost 050
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 27/08/2026How it feels working in the @nuxt.com / @nitro.build team right now Everyone is cooking so hard. Can't wait to ship all of this 🤌 2160

Hugo @hugorcd.com · 12/08/2026Been a while since I shared a Raycast tip. Most of my Raycast usage these days is custom extensions I never published 😬. Hugo @hugorcd.com · 30/07/2026Built a tool to create nice renders of evlog's doc animations. Now it's a full render engine. Upload your content, customize everything, export clean shots. UI still needs polish, but the output already looks nice. Built with @nuxt.com ofc render-labs.evlog.cloud 4150
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 23/07/2026github-tools is now an official @evedev_ extension. One import. One file. GitHub agents with approvals, workflows, and durability built in. eve.dev/integration... 010
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 16/07/2026I've just released evlog/telemetry. Wide-event telemetry for CLIs and automation. One command execution = one structured event. Privacy-safe by default. Raw argv never read. Wrap your citty command in withTelemetry() and tracking is automatic. evlog.dev/use-cases/t... 020
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 13/07/2026GitHub agents with zero credential management. GitHub Tools + Vercel Connect = short-lived tokens with the right permissions, automatically. github-tools.com/guide/verce... 160
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 07/07/2026Create GitHub agents with eve.dev in just 3 files (or 9 lines of code) Get approvals, long-running workflows, and durability. github-tools.com makes it that simple now. 140

Hugo @hugorcd.com · 11/06/2026I just tried Linear Diff. Genuinely speechless. The UI is so fucking good. Everything flows, it's beautiful, the AI makes sense, this is ridiculously perfect. I've been staring at it for 10 minutes, just appreciating how well it's designed 150
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 11/06/2026He's obviously learned how to troll 😭 But more seriously I tried and it works for me. Are you getting an error somewhere? 130
Hugo @hugorcd.com · 11/06/2026I just improved evlog's error rendering in the terminal. Rich code snippets showing exactly where errors happen, clickable file links, Why + Fix sections, better config, and no more duplicate errors from evlog + nitro. 050
