I had a dream last night that suddenly and without fanfare Veronica Slowikowska and Jane Wickline replaced Colin Jost and Michael Che as Weekend Update anchors so if it happens remember you heard it here first.

Can't believe that it's now been 20 years since we all learned the most hi-larious way to open a TV sketch comedy show is with a Gilbert and Sullivan parody!! #Studio60

I love that Dolly Parton wrote the song with perhaps the most radical, Marxist lyrics ever to top the Hot 100: They let you dream just to watch 'em shatter You're just a step on the bossman's ladder

Dolly wanted to cross over from country to pop - and she did. She wanted to become a movie star - and she did. She wanted to enable millions of kids to have access to books - and she did. She wanted to have a FREAKING AMUSEMENT PARK- and she did. What an absolutely extraordinary human being.

I already don't like living in a world without Dolly Parton.

Watching this last season of The Bear really makes clear why Friends never devoted seven consecutive episodes solely to a busy day at Monica's restaurant.

James Burrows was the most influential sitcom director of all time. Next time you watch "Cheers," notice how active the camera is, with lots of tracking shots. That's his influence. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

I haven't been able to bring myself to watch Colbert all week - it's just too sad - but I just remembered now that I did have the good fortune to have the opportunity two times to submit for a writing position on his old show. And by all reports he's an excellent human.

I just watched @weezer.bsky.social's "Buddy Holly" video & I realized it's now like five levels of nostalgia: I was looking back on a video from the 90s that looked back on a show from the 70s that looked back at the 50s for a song referencing a singer from the 50s and a TV star from the 60s

Another Catherine O'Hara memory: Back at Second City LA friends of mine like Michael Ross and @chadfifer.bsky.social and Jake Hjorten were in an improvised soap opera set in Paris of the 1920's that Joe Flaherty brought down from Canada called "The Soap Also Rises." 1/3

I could be wrong, but Netflix buying Warner Bros could be the least bad of the bad options: - Netflix currently has no real theatrical distribution division. So there's no duplication the way there would have been if Skydance/Paramount or Comcast/Universal had prevailed. 1/x
