Another tweak to this thread. What if instead of playing the same sound every time, you wanted to play a random startup sound? Well, here's the bash script. Feel free to modify it to your own convenience, changing the path or the sound names. :D

Oh yeah, to get a silence file: - Open Audacity - Click the "Record" button (the big red circle) - Wait 5 seconds - Select the audio with the mouse - Edit > Remove Special > Silence audio - File > Export audio. Be sure to export it in .wav format.

After this I created a 3-line long script, that you can see in the attached image, and saved it as .soundas Then I just opened xfce's "Session and startup" and added the script to "Application autostart". Why the silence beforehand and not directly an "aplay .startup.wav"? The reason is weird xD

Another simple tip for xfce on Linux. Since xfce on Debian doesn't offer the ol' classic startup sound by default anymore, I did this to have it back: - I created a 5-second long audio file with silence, using Audacity and saved it as ~/.silence.wav - I copied the startup sound to ~/.startup.wav

The newest version of 86Box, when set up with the correct plugins (named "assets"), can emulate the sound of floppy and hard drives. It even emulates the "airplane takeoff" sound that old computers made when turned on! ;w;

Fun thing about the mission "Tinkertrain", from the campaign "Operation Shatterfire" of Comanche 2.0: The enemy airplanes don't shoot at you. They *charge at you*, crashing their plane into yours and causing HEAVY damage. This added to the extremely low fuel makes this mission super challenging.

I have said it multiple times before, and I keep my stance: Don't be afraid to draw NSFW of your characters if you desire to. If it makes you happy, do it! You don't even need to make it porn like I did, you can make them spicy. But do it. Be happy! And stick it to the corpos trying to "clean" us.

Fun fact: Years before the Defrag tool for Windows 9x that we all love and miss, MS-DOS 6 and 6.22 had a tool that did the same and looked (relatively) similar. Technically it was a stripped down licensed version of Norton SpeedDisk renamed as Microsoft Defrag.
