What else is new? Trump is handing out Presidental Pardons to a couple of men who removed the air polution controls on trucks. (Heck, who needs that?). Once Presidential Pardons were a serious matter, designed for exemplatory felons who deserved pardons. Now just a cheap campaign gimick. 🤡

If you want to obtain a passport, pretty much every country chargest you for it. But in Canada, to vote, I basically just have to show some government issued-ID (e.g. a driver's licence) to prove who I am and that I live in the riding I am voting in. This looks like voter suppression to me.

Trump does the minimalist of things to "comply" with the law and then waits for the other party to take him to court again. Same tactics with the Gordie Howe Bridge where he got extracted money for his slush fund to open the bridge, but then had only one customs booth staffed on the U.S. side.

Just to get ahead of the nonsense that will spew from the White House: Seperatist PQ party won the election in Quebec yesterday. But they only got 30% of the vote. So only 30-40% or so are likely to vote Yes to seperate from Canada. So no, Canada isn't about to break up.

When confronted by an inconvenient 'fact' or 'question', just lie and insist the 'facts' are not the 'facts'. Since the U.S. Media can only talk for about a minute on any one subject, your lie will come and go without anyone noticing. Then if asked again, just keep repeating the same lie.

Last half of my career I worked with a software package, PeopleSoft. One day the owner of Oracle announced he was buying PeopleSoft so he could stop selling the software and force everyone onto Oracle's package. The U.S. Anti-Trust authority let that go through. Very weak U.S. anti-trust laws?
