iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I hired some help on my first book. it was larger than they had ever done, and I had to dig deep into my savings. Great job, but I can't do that for every book, so I learned from that example and have bern practicing on shorter works.

I enjoy writing more, but I also enjoy the editing process.

Its been an exercise in self editing and differences in line edits, finding my filter-words, and improving my word-choice overall. The more I do it, the better I get. Though, I think I'll avoid using Google Docs in the future, as I'm an Indie, and Self-edits are currently what my budget affords me.

I realized the bigger symbolism of my story was confused and muddled. Typically, I try to follow a buddy-cop beat-sheet, which includes separating the "buddy cops," but some of the intended symbolism doesn't work with that. So I'm rewriting portions to be congruent with that. Also line-edits.

I'll be streaming this upcoming Friday at 7 central again, in case you missed it

Starying a week-by-week project cycling. I'll circle back to #spellpunk, but this week I'm revising / editing book 2 of #theDrunkWizardChronicles. There's some additional sub-arcs to complete and some changes to my current ending, but its going really great. I feels good! I can still write! YAY!

Looking at my responsibilities this year, Book 2 of the Drunk Wizard Chronicles may be slightly delayed to next year. To be fair, we bought a house. Its a big life event, and an expensive one. I'll try to get it in and published earlier, but Cadma may return in early 2027 instead.

Unfortunately, no stream tonight. I'm woozy from some dental work.

I've got some feedback on the Wild One class. I think it lacks a little mechanical impact - the player was newer, but that shouldn't be a barrier to fun. I'll try to address during my stream tonight at 7pm CT twitch.tv/retrodungeoneer , and make a pre-generated Wild One to test out the changes.

Of late, my thoughts dwell on how AI content has been used to justify lower artist prices, but its starting to make human art "premium." Like, "This here crayon? This is premium childhood here my friend. For you? Fifty bucks, and that's a steal. You want the REALLY good stuff? Go to the book store"

RIP Tim Curry. You terrified me of the right things when I was young. Thank you for making cautionary tales worthwhile.

I've gotten to a point that I'm reasonably happy with the Reliquary Innovations logo in my #ttrpg, #Spellpunk. "Reliquary Innovations. Don't think original, think Reliquary! Understanding our past to choose our future."

My playtest went well, and now I'm revising a big portion of my rulebook to be consistent with the latest rule changes. #spellpunk is going to get a big infusion of equipment, foes, and campaign content so we should be looking much better as a #ttrpg. I look forward to finding my people for it.

So my #diy #coffee hutch project has to pause due to silly things like "Extreme Heat Warning" and "Heat Exhaustion." The reason I'm building one is that our new house, like all houses, has some custom needs, and a small hutch is going to hit just right. I've got lots of #woodwork this year for it.

H. P. Gildwel @hpgildwel.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

I bit off more than I could chew with my Coffee Hutch project. 3 days was not enough in triple digit, high humidity heat.
