Democracy is in peril, and the peril's name is Donald Trump. If you are not terrified, you are not paying attention. It is time to rise up TOGETHER. The resistance is US.

Not you, of course. You fantasize about violent retribution every day, little man. You will die on the losing end of that, whether you pursue it or not.

Then stand down and let the courageous lead the fight. This is not a time for silence. Our very democracy is at stake.

It's never a bad day to hate Donald Trump! Courage!

Courageous and noble people must fight for our very democracy, and we must focus on those who would steal it from us. If you are not up for the fight, then stand down. Let the best of us lead.

And you own your own hatred and lust for retribution, which live in your head daily. I wonder who has the greater emotional burden.

"Little marco"? You're an extraordinarily small human being, Dr Feldman, and it's informed all of your rage against the world since you noticed, as a young boy. You have a high IQ. Congratulations. But your rage defines you.

You may just be wish-casting that the GOP goes full white nationalist. That is obviously a political loser, an electoral non-starter. Be careful not to wish for what you simply wish to be true. There may be some intelligent operators who realize the faulty terrain they'd be battling on in that case.

The idea that skin color is a useful proxy for merit, is race essentialism. It encodes for any number of assumptions that may not hold, and often do not hold, in practice, as higher status minorities are used by higher status institutions to check their boxes.

howardrock.bsky.social @howardrock.bsky.social · 16/10/2025
And a race essentialism noise. I'm sure you can play all the hits, but you are devoid of anything interesting to say.

howardrock.bsky.social @howardrock.bsky.social · 16/10/2025
That's a meaningless relativism noise. In any given profession, I'm sure any skilled practitioner will have their own nuanced view of what it takes to be good. Few will list skin color as a contributing factor for or against.

howardrock.bsky.social @howardrock.bsky.social · 16/10/2025
No, you can't. I indicated that each job would have its own definition of merit, and very few skilled professionals would add "diversity" to their list of qualities that contribute to professional merit. But that is an advanced idea, beyond the cartoons you think in terms of.

Now I see why you think nobody can answer these questions. You're just not smart enough to understand anybody's answers.

howardrock.bsky.social @howardrock.bsky.social · 16/10/2025
I think anybody who devotes themselves to a vocation will have a significantly nuanced and educated opinion that will far outstrip your cartoon idea that they can't define merit, and moreover that they have never thought about it. I suggest it is you with the impoverished thinking on this subject.

Nobody's ever thought about what it is to be good at one's job? Interesting take. I think most people consider what it is to be good at their own jobs, and from there, they can formulate an informed opinion about whether the DEI officers at their company, would help to promote those qualities.

Looking like this is not the case. The assassin shot a cultist (in fact a cult leader), but was not in a cult himself.

Trite and unactionable ideas can be true. That doesn't make them meaningful.
000
howardrock.bsky.social @howardrock.bsky.social · 26/02/2025
The most interesting thing about this idea, is that a preeminent public intellectual is not embarrassed by how trite it is. The left is trapped in virtue signaling on this issue, and has no ideas beyond completely empty ones.

And Rachel Maddow works for them, willingly. It is time for genuinely principled people to show their principle. Maddow should quit. Immediately. If you disagree, then you are complicit. And you disgust me. Period.

That is exactly what it is. Trump demanded they not have Black employees, and thus the purge. It is heart breaking, and disgusting.

No. Just no. Anybody who voted for him is tainted in my eyes, and I cannot simply "choose" to forgive. Fine, if they want to join our side now, ok, but they will never be acceptable to me. My virtue is not for sale, and it is not so cheap.

Disappointing that Fauci's letter mentions the government agencies that concluded a higher likelihood for zoonotic, while not mentioning the agencies that concluded a higher likelihood for lab origin. And nowhere has the phrase "lab leak is not plausible" ever appeared, other than Proximal Origins.

I read the article, yes. He is worried about reputational damage, or damage to his own self esteem, by staying. He realizes that he loses a large platform by leaving. So you tell me, where does concern for his country enter into his decision?

It makes so much more sense to keep writing editorials there about how disgusted you are with some of the paper's decisions. What exactly is the sense in deplatforming yourself from a job which was not even a full time commitment?
