There's a level where its no longer a reasonable assumption to call them game pieces. I'm happy magic has that separation in the play vs collector, most* play packs your fairly rare best hit is maybe a $100 card. when we start asking risk/cost vs reward, there isnt obfuscation, its gambling.

The eldrazi twist on the cube is a fun challenge to balance, given how resonant the rest of the plane and archetypes are, and how much it warps them. schedule permitting, absolutely!

Now that we have the tmnt commander deck list, we have a top 8! These cards have been printed in every universes beyond commander release! Dropping off the list this go around were mind stone, wayfarers bauble, talisman of progress, thought vessel, farseek and Prairie Stream.

I have never been more mad at a UI change than this. With lorwyn eclipsed limited they added a feature that suggests cards in an archtype that you can't toggle off. insult to injury is the flip ashling is in this pool and wasnt suggested for this RU elementals deck.

Agreed 10000%. Lorwyn feels like a pseudo retirement party for me for the level of investment I’ve had emotionally in the game as a player. Everything after that feels like it’s gonna be work to be excited-for for me, so decoupling the work/play overlap is probably healthy in the long run.

While I prefer this timeline; ultimately I want 2 returns, 1 new world, and 1 wildcard set a year (battlebond or MH2 totally count) if they want to do a single UB a year on top of that then sure. 6 sets is already too much and we’re seeing the cracks form, 7 will collapse stores.

The journey begins: The trappings of the world set out before me are not the path I was destined for. A scarier, darker world lays beyond the realm of child’s playthings that was set before me, and I must embrace the darkness to overcome it. -Furby: last words before Furbumbris

I agree the balance should be towards UW, but at 5 sets a year rather than 7. With 6 a lot of the existing structure is bursting at the seams and burning people out.

Story is the meaning that helps connect all these pieces. I hope that future universes within sets we see asmall 3-5 chapter arc or PW guide to help things feel full of life and less hollow, because goddamn, these artists poured so much life + love into this set. magic.wizards.com/en/mtgarena/...

Some of the Art and flavor to make individual cards makes sense is genius, but lack of story to underpin why there are suddenly several spider people or spider riders (or at least visible story to public, cause im sure theres a style guide) makes this feel MORE disconnected from magic, not less
