re: Voices.
The mango in this is too good to be true. It's the mango of starburst and hi-chew and bubble tea. It's fantastical, it's delightful. I like it a lot.
It wears sheer, almost aquatic, like it's a drink more than a dessert. But you get all the facets, and you get the desserty essence of it, without it feeling heavy.

re: Rumble
This is the baritone scent. This is the kind of scent you'd want to hear "good girl" from.
It resists categorization. It's not too boozy, it's not too coffee like, it's not too much of an amber. It's just warm and dark and deep. I think if you're looking for a winter scent, this might be a good place to start.

re: You & I (Will Die).
This one piqued my interest in the house. I love a good name, I love a good reminder of mortality as you guys know, and so I needed to smell this. This one is a dance between light and dark, between the sparkling and the decaying, between aldehydes and roots and patchouli and vetiver.

The perfume plays with the ideas of dark and light and does a really beautiful job of balancing many different notes. I was so surprised by how this evolved on my skin. At first light and airy, then it makes its way into a damp earth smell but doesn't stay there too long.

re: SNIPPID
First whiff in and I am immediately captivated-sometimes a fragrance can transport you to two very different places at the same time. Snippid has me at once in the classiest and most charming barbershop l've ever entered but also has me walking through a botanic garden in early spring.

re: MULL
I am first impressed at how the oenanthic (pertaining to wine, folks) effect is captured here. I am aware that it is not easy. This, with the orange and clove, immediately reminds me of a hot mug of Glühwein. There is this fruity ester tastiness that is going on, too, something that makes my mouth water.

A rich wet tobacco and a Malaysian oud that Mammoth informs was procured in Kuala Lumpur is what anchors our festive and warming glögg. It is seamless, with the complexity of these materials seeming to perpetuate the sensation of the libation well into the dry down.

I remember the first day I tried Alive. I was sitting at my desk, frustrated by paperwork I was tired of.

I put my hands to my face, and suddenly I smelled it, and I felt better.

Alive has since become almost an extension of my emotions. Sometimes it's how I remind myself I'll be alright after a hardship. Other times, it's a celebration of life's moments. The scent simply makes me feel better, or amplifies how good I already feel.

I put away the razor and the bottles and hurry to the bedroom to dress in thick clothes. You are already in the corridor, scarf wrapped around your neck, eyes carrying a quiet impatience. It's the winter solstice and we're going out to visit family.
At the end of the night, we climb into my sedan and pull away. Outside, the night is crystalline, the air sharpened by negative temperatures.
Inside the car, something turquoise and weightless settles between us, a scent dissolving into light and dusk.

I glance in your direction. I'm stirred by memories of a life already lived. We saw my old uncle. I wish I could invite you in the memory of him and me as a child, trout fishing in the small streams behind his small sawmill. I'm also moved by images of a billion unlived lives, lost worlds, imagined worlds, all the could-have-been pasts and futures.
I wish we could see them all. I wish we had the time. But there is only this life. The thought of all the lives we can't have is dizzying. You and I will die, having walked this one and only path.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here’s something you won’t see every day. Vida and I have been working overtime to keep up with demand of late, and the end is in sight. It’s time. We’re running on fumes.

Showing up every single day to execute at a high standard is just not possible, despite what you may hear from business advice types. Breaks, rest, time to step back and reflect- all of these are essential.

I’m really good at making perfume. That doesn’t mean it comes easily. I need to shed the daily distractions in order to tune in to those whispering secrets, to allow them to settle, til a shy perfume concept pokes its head around a corner.

Vida @chicagogroomingco is reallllly good at making high level luxury products with consistency and accuracy. But that takes focus and attention, hard work through challenges and distractions.

It’s no accident that House of Mammoth is doing really special things. So many of you have told us how our work has impacted you, made your life better, helped you connect with yourself and others, process grief and celebrate big moments.

Hear me- it is an absolute privilege and honor to be held in such high esteem. Even more so to be TRUSTED by you is better than any awards or sales numbers we could achieve.

Snippid is the story of an imagined leaf, told in fragrance. It begins with a fresh camphoraceous vitality, and a tinge of natural sweetness. It stretches into a cool and crisp green, before slowly drying and curing to a warm tobacco, decorated with black tea and patchouli. Samples available now!

Is the destiny of a leaf written in the stars?

With green vitality and sweetness, the small group of cells that will become a leaf is full of possibility.

How exciting! A leaf that will feed the entire plant, taking in the sun’s warm rays and converting them to sustenance.

Don’t all leaves grow to maturity, waving in carefree breezes, crisp and cool, happily doing their jobs? Before colder temperatures prompt a stunning display of colors? Then fall gently and poetically to the ground?

Not all.

Perhaps a caterpillar will choose this very leaf to munch to the stalk, or to wrap its fragile body before a dramatic transformation.

This leaf could be picked, carefully dried, and cured to become tea or tobacco. Or have its essence distilled for the smell.

Or perhaps the fragile shoot will be trampled and snapped by a squirrel.

A few days without rain and it could wither, leaving nothing but the lifeless shell of a seed less than an inch beneath the soil.

It’s citrusy but not clean, airy/watery but not aldehydic or blue, green but not fougere or herbal/agrestic, floral without being perfumey or potpourri, woody but not boring, resinous but not sticky, sweet but not sickly or vanillic.
