We haven't seen such low approval for a president on the economy since the Great Recession in 2008. But it's not a mystery why — under Trump the cost of basic needs are rising out of control, and homeownership is out of reach for too many Americans.

For 62 years, SNAP has helped families put food on the table. Last year, Republicans in Washington passed the largest cuts to SNAP in American history. Over 1 million children have lost access so far. Especially as costs keep rising, I'll keep fighting to defend this lifeline.
