If the federal government is going to subsidize getting a higher education, that should be calibrated to better satisfy projected future demand for particular degrees. I'd be fine with more subsidies for medical school and pre-med or whatever, because we need more doctors and nurses.

Like, use AI to monitor all of those application monitoring metrics you don't pay attention to. Use it to generate initial hypotheses about reported defects. Use it to help you prioritize your backlog. There is just all kinds of low hanging fruit lying around here.

I'm fine with talking about using AI to write software. But we've been doing a generally shitty job of maintaining the software as it is. Shouldn't we leverage AI to help with that problem before rushing to generate tons more that has to be maintained? Yet I see little talk about doing so.
