Cowboys again. This time one of our boys has lost his boots. Standing in a field of long grass the cowboy points towards the ground and shouts back to his colleague, “Lil bone people got muh boots.” This makes no sense to the other cowboy who sits atop his horse away from the action. He responds, “Lil wut?” Sure enough in the foreground we see a squad of little bone people scampering through the grass with the stolen cowboy boots. They’re thrilled. How the bone people got the boots off the cowboy is unclear.

Artist’s note: I tend to draw drawings from the same perspective (straight on) most of the time. This idea came about when I was goofin around trying to draw a character from a lower angle. I like that the story unfolds with the foreground, mid-ground, and background all working together. There’s a draft of this one included in the Spooky Pants book. Coming out next week!

a simple delight i have at work is that you need to put a character into a bg so animators know what scale they should be working with, but you only have the one picture of the character so if they're doing something not vertical you can rotate them so snoopy's just floppin all over the place

Edit. And my "rich" 200k salary that I work 60-66h per week for got me a 3 bed 90s home in the suburbs that I am raising my kids in. I drive a 2012 Nissan pathfinder and we go on vacation ever other year to Mexico for a week. Is this rich or what a normal life should look like?

i got a fabric bundle with the intent of making something with 4 of the 12 pieces, and then i found a pattern that uses 9 so i got immediately distracted and am doing that instead lmao
