Without being overly cynical, Reform supporters already said they didn't care about the £5 million bung from Harborne, and that even if it was shady, good, because 'whatever it takes' to get Farage in power. Far-right politics thrives on incoherent exceptionalism which it demands and creates.

The right is ignoring their own material concerns in favour of political entertainment: Brexit being the best example. It was unambiguously bad materially, but it felt good to give some imaginary effete liberal in Brussels a black eye. Climate change is another big one.

these bigots just sit on discord and WhatsApp all day radicalising each other with complete fake bullshit and using AI to draft censorship threats to any org that even hints at trans people being part of society. even if their own families desert them, they double down. It’s like BSE 2.0

Sure, though for the past 3 decades (?) the idea of a national culture has p much been undermined by successive governments : cuts to arts funding, walling off access to creative industries to the richest in society, making the UK incredibly difficult to be a creative worker etc.

The entire "free speech on campus" moral panic was manufactured to blackmail us into making space in intellectual life for bigots and charlatans who couldn't get there on their own merits. Its a DEI scheme for fascism. Congratulations to everyone who took it at face value.

The anti-genocide protests are not made against the Jewish community. They're not even made against Israel per se. They are primarily against *our own government*, and it's complicity in the genocide being carried out by the Israeli state. The home secretary's remarks should be seen in that context.
