New Genesys points list is so cool. So excited to brew for the regional later this month!

Looks like the scanlated final chapter is out for BokuYaba. Not surprised to see a lot of people mad they didn't get their checklist time skip ending fulfilled. I'm kind of at the point where I don't really need that from a series anymore. We don't need every last detail of their lives shown to us.

I do feel I should post more things here else I risk this place just becoming the location I run to when I'm to irritated at other corners of the internet. It's hard to form new habits though...

I think it's weird how people will say "More people need to talk about [THING IN STORY]" as if it's some obscured or subtle thing people are missing and then it's just very obviously a defining part of the work that's so self evident it, at least in a vacuum, doesn't leave much to discuss anyways.

Not exactly sure what I expected the result to be. Seems about right of a map for someone raised in southern nc.

Dialect map showing the strongest correlation in dialect with the southern NC and SC region being the strongest correlation.

(not so) useful tip for those getting into touhou with the EoSD remake: the untranslated japanese version is actually easier than the translated version why? because the lineup for the eternal meek safespot is easier due to being more visually distinct (align the hitbox between「 and エ)

What's your favorite Bible verse? Wrong answers only.

"When a devil gets caught by a monster, I, as a human being, can only hope that they both die.

Bittenfeld from Legend of the Galactic Heroes. He is a redhead with a black uniform. He has his hands pressed down against a desk or table while he exclaims the quote.

Really grinds my gears when people pretend that linux is inherently a magically secure OS. You can guarantee almost every time that people parroting this have never actually had to harden any systems.

Started reading a new romcom manga, TL kinda sucked but I was interested. Found out it was a LN first and went to look it up and see if there was an English TL and got the fucking craziest spoiler of my life getting flash banged with "First Time Intercourse" in the tags. Congrats to them I guess lol

BokuYaba so good it got the whole VC to sit down and watch 12 episodes straight which is an impressive feat when we're all old and have jobs.

hey man uhh I know you took off your iconic mask to symbolize your growth as a character and whatnot but uhh. You're not, like, opposed to wearing it again, right? Just for fun? Haha. No you're not ugly or anything and your character arc is really important but uh. Can you wear it again please haha

It's frustrating that people are incapable of understanding the idea that the Steam Machine might have value add that still justifies buying one even with the unfortunate price/spec issues people are talking about.

This image was trapped on twitter so I'm bringing over here so I can periodically quote it with "so true" every time I see a bad take from someone who reads manga adaptions of LNs.

Post on the MyAnimeList forums. The contents of the post are as follows:

"having read the manga" = opinion invalid.

People who read manga versions of light novels shouldn't have an opinion on the series.

I've put this off long enough. Because one post on machine translation and the devaluation of human labor wasn't enough, I wrote even more words about it than before (2900, to be precise), this time from one former fan translator to another. Or at least, some of you out there.

I'm compiling everything we've learned about the EoSD remake into an easily digestible thread. A thread 🧵. First of all, the game will be released globally on Steam and officially translated into multiple languages. Not sure if the Switch/PS5 version is also releasing globally.

For the record, the data here was specifically for the illustrations, not for the source code. Which is why JYUNYA replied "that would've been useful 1 month ago". Garakuta's recap makes it more obvious that they specifically meant the art, not the source code. EoSD's source code is still gone.
