I forgot my phone so I couldn’t take a picture, but there’s a new fire and from my angle it looks like a volcano erupting with the sun above it glowing a dark blood orange and it’s RAINING ASH EVERYWHERE. gatdamn I hate how normal the teen girls at the window were about it.

I just bought a used Switch lite for my young nephew. I’m going to clean it up a bit, get a screen protector and a new shell. It’s still costly, but should I go ahead and get him Mario Kart 8 (also used)? I already have a Lego Star Wars game to give him, but I want to play WITH him. 🤔

Small update on my struggle over losing my creative mojo this year. I made a little guy! Finally!! I sat at my desk, watched a Godzilla comfort movie and made a guy! I had fun and and I hope this means I’ll make another little guy soon.

So I don’t have the energy to go into detail, but if you’ve been following the hell and chaos of the evacuation from the Hawk fire in Reno my family are part of it and it’s been a wild ride for 4 days now. No one in my family has lost any property, but, everything went to shit so fast I’m exhausted.

Night shot of the blaze in the hills a few days ago.

Facebook post concerning the Hawk Fire near Reno Nevada:

Hawk Fire
1h •
We know everyone is feeling frustrated and anxious with the road closures and evacuations, and we completely understand how hard it is to be away from your homes. We want to reassure our community that even though the smoke column may not look like it did on Saturday, a tremendous amount of work is still happening behind the scenes.
Firefighters are out there with dozers, crews and engines are seeking out hotspots, heavy equipment, and large fire engines working tirelessly. NV
Energy is actively replacing damaged powerlines, and many teams are focused on making the area safe before anyone can return.
Please be patient and know that there are so many people working incredibly hard to get you home as soon as it's safe.
Your safety is the priority, and we appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

Again, a massive fire. This time my sister and her family (after hours of chaos) are evacuated and my nephew is sleeping on our sofa. They managed to go back for the dogs, but couldn’t find their cat. Cat has enough food and water for a week so hopefully this is all over soon. Good fucking night 😮‍💨💤

Fire as seen from my home, massive plume of smoke blocks the sun and turns it bright orange.

Hi friends, I’m not posting this to scare anyone, we are ok. The fire situation north of Reno, where I live, is heaving a very scary time the last few days though with massive fires. I have friends and family in “get set” zones and I’m hoping the winds do not shift our way tonight.

Earlier this summer I got a light up Animal Crossing sign. It’s wall mountable and I really want to get a small shelf for trinkets and put it up on the wall at my desk. There’s a few weeks before classes start for me so I should be able to have things organized by then 🤞

New desk set up will take some getting used to and the rest of the room is a mess, but first Animal Crossing. The only items in this image that I paid for are the desk mat and my second hand Switch. Desk and monitor were gifted from a friend that moved. Laptop broken refunded and fixed.

I’m in that mental headspace where “as soon as I get my shit together”, “once things settle down” and “maybe next week” are doing too much work. I am also too self aware to believe my own bullshit, but my thoughts are still doing the same thoughting anyway. Have a Charlotte in the meantime.

I just found out about the new Odyssey film a few days ago (life has been pretty busy/stressful recently) and realized I still have the book I bought from Boarders bookstore in like 2003 or something. I used to read so much back then. Also the 90s TV movie is flawless.

Amazing human progress! The number of typos and bold empty statements on their website reeks of absolutely no solid foundation, it’s all cool robot fluff, “AI”, and fancy money. None of this shit is useful or real.
