We now have the highest case rate since autumn 2025 and it's rising steeply.

Ok. We are apparently into a new COVID wave here in the UK.

Here in the UK COVID has 'appeared' to have become seasonal over recent years. Its 'season' coincides with school summer holidays with infections starting to rise in July and peaking in October. Its as if socialising and holiday travelling exposes the population to an increased risk of infection.

Nice. Got this one in Gran Canaria yesterday evening

The late afternoon sky over Valsequillo in Gran Canaria the night before a storm. It's dramatic and tempestuous with greys of many shades and also orange and yellow (and yes I made a sexy book reference).

Sainsbury's puts strong sticky tape around its fairtrade bananas. You can't break the tape with your fingers and when you tease it off it damages the skins of the fruit. Is this one of those scams whereby food packaging is designed to spoil the product deliberately to cause waste?
