We brought out my kei fire truck and had a great time. We didn't even learn about the show until yesterday. We then found out it was technically too young by a couple of years (28 Vs 30) then organizers agreed the "rule of cool" applied and let it in. So many kids wanted photos sitting in the back.
A Japanese "Kei"* fire truck is parked in a car show outside surrounded by a diverse crowd. A mother is helping her children into the seats behind the cab. It is bright red, with an old style rotating red light jo front with small wheels. A folding single story red ladder is outstretched on the left side of the vehicle upwards. Firehose is coiled on the ground, and a portable fire fighting water pump is on a sliding tray on the back of the vehicle.
The sky is clear and it is a bright day. There is a bright blue classic car in the next parking space
* A Kei car is a class of Japanese vehicles that are small in size for certain tax and registration benefits, in addition to bringing smaller and more efficient

You're not supposed to raise your corpse:water ratio for the purposes of vacationing in a grave.
Tumblr post by JollyTraveler: People will swim in the ocean, even though there are definitely corpses in it. People will not swim in a pool with a corpse in it. Humans all have a corpse:water ratio that is acceptable for them to swim in
Reply by thebeserkingblacksmith: It's called 'being able to see the corpse'
Reply by lokipagan: So if I put you in an L-shaprd swimming pool, and you knew there was a corpse around the corner, you'd be fine?
Reply by mwagneto: loving the implication that I'm a little animal and you're a scientist putting me into various bodies of water to test my corpse:water ratio tolerance

Orion shows great in Ha combination filters that help with light pollution, which these SeeStar units have. Here's one of mine I took a little north of Seattle from my backyard using one with my neighbors lights still on. I have a rig at SFRO but these seestars are just so compact for one offs

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon). This was only ~20minutes if integration due to weather closing the roofs at Starfront early that night. I took more subs later but I'm still happy with this. My first time using Pixinsight and I chose to use it on a comet.
A green comet moving to the top left of the image.
It has a dense, green head and a thin shroud containing a whispy ion tail.

Got back into Astronomy, and decided to try my hand at imaging Kind of to @astrokatie.com's recent thread on value in non-applied science, I have no direct gain beyond I think it's cool But in the process I've learned a ton about image processing and compositing that I can use elsewhere M33 btw
Triangulum Galaxy spiral sits in the middle of the frame, surrounded by stars. The image isn't particularly smooth, and it's lower resolution, but the Galaxy can be clearly made out

A furry avatar has a treat balanced on her nose. She has grey fur, purple eyes and ears with one ear a brighter shade of purple than the other. Her hair has a tricolour streak in it of Grean, Yellow, and Pink.
Her tongue is sticking out as she eyes the treat on her nose.

I've been trying to get better at woodworking. Latest project was to make these as a parting gift for some interns who were departing back to school. Glue up has mahogany, cherry, and walnut.
A wooden coaster is held facing the camera. It is a glue up cut into a palm size circle, engraved with the logo of a company. The wood is mahogany, cherry, and walnut with a shine.A wooden coaster is held facing away from the camera. It is a glue up cut into a palm size circle. We need more gonzo journalism
Panels from the graphic novel Transmetropolitan, featuring Spider Jerusalem. His assistants ask "what next?" To which he replies "Some actual journalism, I think"
Other assistant asks "Actual Journalism? Is that when you don't commit crimes"
Spider retorts in a close up next panel, "Hell no. It's when we commit REALLY GOOD CRIMES"

Whilst I support these apps in principle, developers making something like this explicitly exclusive to a specific platform is just a dick move.

I swear everyone who does street photography has a photo of this plane. Can't remember which film I used off the cuff, but I took these on an XPan a month or two ago. One day I'll sneak a shot of it with my CFV

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs. (“Hard mode” no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)
Animated scene featuring a girl leaning forward, putting her hands under her jaw resting leisurely at her school desk. As she does, two boys lean into frame and look at her suspiciously.

The scene is from 時をかける小女 ("The Girl Who Leapt Through Time")

@blickartmaterials.bsky.social charged me for materials to be shipped to my address, same as the billing address, then forcibly cancelled my order. No notice; found out when manually checking for a shipping update Overly-aggressive automated security hurts business w/ false positives.
Screenshot of customer service reply. The message indicates that the order was cancelled due to an automated security system, whilst acknowledging the card was successfully authorized for the transaction. No explanation for the security flag is given. They instead suggest using alternate forms of payment that are dependent on specific brands such as Apple Pay or Paypal rather than using a credit card. The customer service representative's name is redacted with red markup.

Image depicts comic book villain Lex Luthor stealing forty cakes. He is running to the left, pulling rope attached to a bakers cart with the cakes
Caption reads "When no one was looking, Lex Luthor took forty cakes. He took 40 cakes. That's as many as four tens. And that's terrible."

Luthor has a giddy expression.

Finding a sticker envelope under my desk I noticed that @ashleyloob.bsky.social left a written UwU on the *inside* of the envelope. Never change.
Torn open envelope reveals "UwU" written alongside a flower on the inside.
Outside of the envelope reveals a stylized Ashleyloob logo.

I think this last draft to a Craigslist scammer might be too much. They panicked mid-thread because they couldn't send a phone verification code to a VoIP number.
SMS messaging app with a brown background. Red markup has masked the phone number.
The top message from the sender is "oh stupid"
Recipient replied with a photo of an Anthropomorphic fursona holding a pink and white Uno reverse card that says "UwU" with a heart on It. The fursona is foxlike, has a white base coat with a transition of green-blue-to pink on their head from bottom to top.
The text in the drafts area of the messaging app says "I purrovide trnyaning to awspwiring scwammers"
