Reposted by Homo NudusChurch without Walls @churchwow.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Introducing the Contemplative Collective - a new vision for a supportive online network for those who are interested in exploring the reflective/meditative side of Christian prayer and worship. Starting with a WhatsApp group, but hopefully developing a routine of regular virtual chapel events. 111
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 30/09/2026I'm putting out feelers to see if there is any interest in an online community for people who want to explore creative approaches to contemplative worship. A regular Rhythm of Prayer led by folk from a variety of traditions. Reply or DM if this appeals! #prayer #worship #newmonasticism 031
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 23/09/2026Does anyone in the Cumbria/Borders area of the UK run a naturist DJ business (or do this on a 'keen amateur' basis?). Or even a non-nude DJ happy to work in a naturist setting. Testing the waters for a possible event in 2027. #naturismuk #nakedDJ #nakeddisco #nudist 000
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 23/09/2026But some naturist advertising does not! Some clubs/resorts etc. seem to deliberately select younger/fitter/more attractive models for their publicity, often with a bias towards females which does not reflect actual gender ratios. 010
Reposted by Homo NudusChurch without Walls @churchwow.bsky.social · 15/09/2026All our regular activities are open to all-comers - regardless of gender, ethnicity, or any other personal characteristic. However, members of the GBTQ community might be interested in the safe space we have started specifically for 'men who like men' www.facebook.com/groups/mensc... #gaychristian 002
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 13/09/2026Coming soon on Zoom... a series of mindfulness sessions aimed at men, where you don't have to get dressed to join in. Mondays at 6.30pm (UK time) starting 21 Sept - DM with your WhatsApp number to join the group chat for updates etc. 061
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 10/09/2026At one time a naked hiker was a rarity, and likely to be arrested and sensationalised in all the 'usual suspect' newspapers. Nowadays, we seem to be a steadily growing body of people and Joe & Jo Public, on the whole, take it in their stride as 'just one of those weirdos again'! 130
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 09/09/2026I would add that I feel there is a third category, which is neither 'naturist' nor 'exhibitionist' in a sexual sense. That is the artistic nude. Which can be a +ive celebration of the human form, incl genitalia, in ways not appropriate at your local naturist club, but w'out becoming lewd or crude. 010
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 09/09/2026Similarly, on a naturist account, erections are not appropriate. Any more than on a textile account! If you wish to go to aesexualised event, or an 'adult' profile, then that's your choice - just keep it for like-minded people and label it appropriately. But that's not naturism, it's exhibitionism, 140
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 09/09/2026Depends entirely on context. In a simple naturist social situation it is not appropriate I'm not even that convinced about 'they just happen'. Not experienced that in a naturist situation since my first tentative steps on a nude beach as a v. self-conscious youngster. But if they do, be discrete! 111
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 08/09/2026Back then, your boss probably read the daily papers! 000

Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 04/09/2026@mm4m.bsky.social I've got locked out of this account. Am planning to relaunch regular men's mindfulness sessions later this month. Watch out for details. 020

Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 04/09/2026Any plans for a return to Manchester?? Or maybe Leeds or Newcastle? Better still Glasgow (or Edinburgh). 000
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 03/09/2026What's so shocking and outrageous about a naked body? We've all got one! 050
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 03/09/2026My tattoos all have a significance for me as an expression of important elements of my life, so, in that sense, they are definitely not just some fashion statement or conformity to current trends. I shave my head out of vanity since I became significantly bald. But nothing below the neck. 040
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 03/09/2026I always said I'd never have a tattoo. They had an image of being 'common' with negative connotations of thuggery. But that has changed. They are now seen as an art firm and a way of self-expression. I have 5 and would prob have more if I could afford to. 180
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 02/09/2026A swathe of beautiful and historic landscape near my home in SW Scotland has been bought up by venture capitalists for commercial forestry purposes, threatening the environment and centuries (millenia!) of heritage. Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 29/08/2026That looks positively idyllic - I'm envious (but in a good way!) 020
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 29/08/2026You message other forum users to ask 'Any pictures?' 040
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 27/08/2026Where are you happy to be naked? These are our choices: 1. Nowhere ❌️ 2. Shower ✅️ 3. Bed ✅️ 4. Bedroom ✅️ 5. Whole house ✅️ 6. Garden ✅️ 7. Nudist club, campsite, etc. ✅️ 8. Public nudist beach ✅️ 9. Remote outdoors ✅️ 10. Anywhere in nature ❓ 11. Anywhere ❌ 151
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 27/08/2026I'd be okay being naked pretty much anywhere if society were less judgemental, but as it stands would definitely not be comfortable in a busy shopping centre, or walking through the centre of a village or along a busy main road. 171
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 26/08/2026I was talking to a first-time visitor to our club at the weekend - a Palestinian guy who has recently moved to Glasgow from Germany. He was lamenting the lack of opportunities to be naked, and the apparent shortage of people comfortable being nude. 030
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 23/08/2026If there's one thing better that sitting reading a good book, it's doing it naked, out in the sunshine! 0310
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 23/08/2026I've noticed Autumn is coming early, with all the trees stressed after the long dry spell. The leaves are def. starting to drop around my caravan at the naturist club. 130
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 19/08/2026It's a bit like any other activitiy - there's an opportunity to go swimming or join a yoga class, but no pressure to join in if you don't want to, but neither is there some big secret about it! 010
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 19/08/2026The assumption that a person who participates in any kind of overtly sexual activity (beyond a closed relationship) is automatically disqualified as a 'true' naturist is inherently misjudged. Most people are capable of discerning what is appropriate in any given situation & behaving accordingly. 000
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 19/08/2026I've participated in a few online events organised by similar groupings, which are 'open' to more sexual behaviour than most conventional naturist events. But it has never felt intrusive - the concept of mutual respect, consent and appropriateness seems to be a fundamental part of the ethos. 200
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 18/08/2026Great thought-provoking thread. I often feel naturism tries to create a false dichotomy between nakedness and sexuality. With proper respect and internalised boundaries there shouldn't be a conflict. Both aspects are positive and healthy in their own right. 041
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 16/08/2026Yeah, I ventured as far south as Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago and notice a major difference! Still fairly green up here (SW Scotland), tho some trees are starting to look a bit stressed. 010
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 15/08/2026There's also the Ribble Valley club to the South... but Solway is probably a bit nearer the Lakes (Keswick is about 40 minutes drive). 020
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 15/08/2026It closed last year due to a new landowner who didn't want to continue their lease. Solway benefited from a share of their remaining funds - and you'd be made very welcome with us I'm sure. 120
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 15/08/2026Mine was only cheap, so not the end of the world if they did. There again, I've not been on a plane for nearly 30 years, so not really an issue for me 🤣 110
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 15/08/2026I don't have a recognised nudist beach near me, so am happy to be naked on any quiet beach, at a discrete distance from non-nudist users. 130
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 15/08/2026I have a small flesible 'gorilla' tripod which is easily carried in a backpack or similar and gives a stable base for taking timer shots - you can even bend the 'legs' to attach it to a branch or fence!. 110
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026Beyone these, I'm not entirely sure what activities a naturist group might want to hold in a typical community centre - maybe a naked book club or choir (I'd be up for the latter!). But I suspect there wouldn't be enough interest to make it viable, except poss. in the more bohemian bits of London! 000
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026Now that is a dramatic change! Not sure I'd have the nerve, but bravo for giving it a go; I look forward to seeing the finished results! 010
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026But there are also a few naked yoga sessions and life-drawing classes hppening in village halls and community centres, nude swims in public sports centres. These things do happen; with a bit of determination, hopefully we can continue to push the boundaries and 'normalise' this kind of thing. 110
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026they regularly have music and poetry groups using the same space, which are probably far more intrusive on other users than my little holy huddle would be. I've not asked them about hosting a naturist meeting - but there are pubs etc. which are happy to welcome nudists (ask Colin and Sadie!) 000
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026I do get what you are saying - public acceptance of nudity in everyday spaces could be improved... but that does go for other minority interest groups. I approached our local community pub about holding a Christian get-together in their lounge and was refused; but 100
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026I agree some religious groups hire rooms in community centres and the like for their meetings (tho some community centres don't allow religious groups) - and I'm not sure it would go down well if a bunch of Muslims turned up and started praying in the middle of the library. 200
Homo Nudus @homonudus.substack.com · 14/08/2026There are a good few naturist hotels and spas alongside mainstream ones in the middle of towns and villages. A few miles from me is a small private naturist club - everyone local knows it is there. They organise naked walks on the doorstep, and everyone seems to just accept 'Oh that's M&H again!' 000
