3. Crypt Worlds One of the issues with picking Crypt Worlds here is that it's a cornucopia of weird, wonderful screenshots to choose from - have this archaeologist. An indie game from 2013, it's weird and wild. It communicates absurdity through a horror tone and it's an absolute delight

2. Dragon Quest IV My favourite game in my favourite game franchise! Many consider 3 to be where the series truly got it's footing, but I feel 4 is the one that really *got* the almost episodic nature that the story in these games is usually presented in

1. Beyond Good and Evil I think as a kid I stole my copy of this from my dad's friend. Nevertheless, it always intrigued me in how it discussed truth as a theme - truth is the resistance's weapon of choice, Jade's camera is as important a weapon as her staff.
