You cannot separate housing from health. Covid-19 made that clearer than ever. As our CEO Nicola McCrudden, speaking at the Covid-19 Inquiry has said, the connections between health and homelessness need to be built into strategy permanently – not just activated in a crisis.

Compassion fatigue is real, and unfortunately, NI is no exception. As political, public, and media narratives grow increasingly divisive, it can become all too easy to forget our shared humanity. That’s why we have chosen #SeeThePerson as the theme for this year’s Homelessness Awareness Week.

When we hear the word “homelessness,” too often a narrow image comes to mind. But the truth is far broader. Homelessness includes individuals and families living in temporary accommodation, sofa surfing, or staying in overcrowded, insecure, or unsafe housing.
