I'm not much of a Pokémon person, but my son is & trying to buy him cards at retail prices has been nigh on impossible the last couple of years, and I refuse to pay scalpers for anything. So it warms the cockles of my heart to see so many of them having a full meltdown about the recent set. Enjoy!!

I'm quite incommunicado at the moment, a lot of stressful stuff is happening at the moment. But I had the opportunity to visit #Gamescom this year and write about it. It's in German, but still...! www.gamezoom.net/artikel/game...

On my way to #Gamescom right now, that's a good intro to a packed day.

So few people talk about it, but a magnigying lense with a light was SUCH a game changer for my face painting game! Great work.

Finished. Was the owner driven off? Left in a hurry? Swallowed by the ground? Who knows. Some could say, that dragon skulls always spell doom, especially in #TheOldWorld. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Piece of terrain. It's a half buried dragon skull on a grassy hill. Some camper hitched their tent on one of the horns, but the camp, along with weapons, a bedroll, and firewood, lay deserted. View from the left side of the skull.

Same terrain piece, but the dirty tent tarp is in focus. Brownish, weathered.

Other side of the hill. You can see the left-behind weapons in the camp.

Doing last touches on my latest project. Only grass and a tent tarp missing. And then? Then somebody lost their camp around #Mordheim. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

A camp site on a terrain piece. Some things are strewn around: a bed roll, some weapons on a cloth strip, a shield, leaning on some wood. A turned off campfire is in a small ditch.

A view on the whole piece. On the left, the camp side. On the right, a small hill, with a weathered dragons skull half buried in it.

Close up for the skull: it's boney, alright, with some moss growing on it.

Aquarium decoration makes for nice terrain centerpieces. And because I can't finish projects, I started the third wip terrain piece: an aged dragon skull that some lone wanderer used to fasten their tent on. #terrain #nerdlings #Warhammercommunity #TheOldWorld

Two aquarium decorations: old, mossy skulls, one with horns. They are next to a Warhammer figure and somewhat bigger than it.

A mess of styrodur, lots of shavings, in preparation for terrain modelling.

A rough outline of the terrain: a lower part on the left, the skull with horns, somewhat higher, one the right.

The same rough terrain, but now covered in texture paste.

Was let go yesterday. Meaning, I just have three month left to fulfill my dream: getting Final-Destination-murdered through impalement by these lamps in the office staircase.

Picture of a very clean looking office staircase. Beside the stairs are long, slender looking lamps, hanging from cables in various length from the ceiling.

Just noticing 1 1/2 weeks after Rock im Park that I never posted any pics. Just meant I lived in the moment (and the moshpits)... :D Saw The Offspring, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Baby Metal, and more. Next up: finishing any miniature this week to get back into the flow.

Picture of a stage at a festival. The band Baby Metal is on stage, dancing, with an also dancing crowd in front, shaded in darkness and moved by metal.

Less miniature stuff (I'm so sadly slow) the next days, but Rock im Park, the kick-off for the German festival season!

My forehead. My hair. My eyes. Concerned. Drunk? A lot of tents and trees and people in the background.

Highlighting every feather takes some time, but is so relaxing! Painting the plumage like in a medieval tapestry, not inspired by the gigantic gen on griphon from GW... :D Only the right side is properly highlighted, the left just drybrushed. Deets in alt! #warhammercommunity #nerdlings #theOldWorld

A griphon model on its back. It's the one from the Island of Blood starter box (I think 2010?), but it's slightly changed. For one, there will be (already is) an Empire general on it's back. But the focus should be the wings!
We can see their underside, the plumage separated in three parts - outer, middle and front. From the outer to the front, it gets lighter, from a dark, almost black-red to a light, bright red!
It's only highlighted on the right side, the left side is just after the drybrushing phase.

The photo of a medieval tapestry. From left to right there is a woman, a red plumaged griphon, a man, and another woman. The people hold text bands, the medieval equivalent of speech bubbles. The guy professes his love to the woman, but she answers something like "Na, there is a griphon, I know this means that there can't be love".

Check out the Berlin Kunstgewerbemuseum for more information, they have it in their collection:

Is it weird to think about including some of my tattoos into the paintjob of the Knight, as part of it's heraldry and livery? Ah, who cares! *happy warhorn noises* #warhammerCommunity #nerdlings #warhammer40k

The mostly assembled Knight Destrier. His armour plates are not attached, to.make it easier to paint, later on.

Getting a good grasp on cannon bronze, with Warplock Bronze, Nihilakh Oxide, then drybrushing Balthasar Gold and the faintest Gehenna's Gold. All the time murmuring "Qualität aus Nuln!" from March of Chaos. #warhammerCommunity #theOldWorld #warhammer

Some cannons - two from the imperial cannon kit, one on a horse-drawn wagon. All are only partially painted.

Guess who had perfect summery spring weather yesterday, found some Zandri Dust primer, and noticed that all of his next projects will be mainly in brown colours! #nerdlings #warhammerCommunity

A gaggle of miniatures - 40k terminators, some dude on a griphon, a horse, some wagon with cannons - on a green cutting mat. All.of them are Zandri Dust primed, just like they have a nice tan going on.

Rethinking the head for my general of griphon. I started with a feathered hat (left) because I love them, but it looks silly on a fast moving griphon. So... maybe one of the others, a helmet? #warhammercommunity #nerdlings #TheOldWorld

Four miniature heads, from left to right: 1. A screaming head with a broad hat, adorned with feathers; 2. A classical knights helmet, with a plume; 2. A salet helmet, topped with the grinning face of an exotic beast; 3. A bearded head, with a simple looking helmet in the style of an eagle

I really dislike this trope. I think the Lion and Russ fought for two days. What where they doing? Dorn beat up Fulgrim in a couple of minutes, said "lol nerd u activated my trap card", and it was epic enough.

After doing a lot of Warhammer #TheOldWorld and now a T'au, I'm thinking about doing something non-GW... but at the same time, my kit-bashed Old World general on (elven) griphon smiles at me from across the bar. Can't decide... maybe some terrain inbetween? #warhammerCommunity #nerdlings

An empire general on a slim elven griphon. He carries a lance as a weapon, a feathered hat, and the griphon has some green stuff feathers to make the empire legs fit.

Side view, better look at the remade feathers. They are not perfect, bit homefully blend when painted. The rider wears a pelt across his back.

Other side. More feathers and the rider has the head of a lion (maybe a beastman?) as a shoulder paldron.

Finished the 4th of my #tenBlades, the Blooded. Some ideas: - Orks ate his leg, he survived. - Not wearing his helmet, he learned that from SMs. - His Twi'ter bio is "Aun'va is KING! Pathfinder, Father, husband in that order." Obnoxious guy. #nerdlings #warhammerCommunity

Tau Pathfinder model from the front. His gun is lowered, while he holds a knife in his left hand. He is mid sprint, knife outstretched, as if he was about to attack someone. He does now wear a helmet, so we can see that his left eye is bionic and green. His armor is red, beginning from a dark red on the bottom to a lighter one on top.
He walks over small stones in a sea of grass.

Side view of the same model. From this PoV it's visible that his left leg is severed below the knee, replaced by a simple prothestic in the colour of his armour. His jumpsuit is grey.

Back view. The control panel on the back of his armor is connected to his shoulder pad by a simple strip of cloth on which T'au alphabet signs are written. It's just simply the Tau version of 'Aun'.

A sword kit from the game Ghost of Tsushima. It's the kot 'Bishamon's Fortune'. Its scabbard is a dark red, turning to a lighter red. The cloth around it is grey, with a small motif of lighter grey. All in all, it's the same colour as the armor and the jumpsuit of the T'au Pathfinder.

Mixing my routine up and switching for a miniature or two from #TheOldWorld to #Warhammer40k. Decided to do one of my #TenBlades... not sure if I really get the dark-red to light-red transition I planned to do. #nerdlings #warhammercommunity

Picture of a T'au model. It's a pathfinder, in mid-run, with his rifle lowered and a blade stretched out. You can see that he has a protesthic foot instead of the normal T'au hoove. Hoof? You know, his xenos clomper.

Close up of his shoulder pad. It has a slight transition from dark to a lighter red. The sept symbol is black, with light red lines in the inner.

Quick update on the Taal priest for my #Mordheim gang. He has some vine motive on his back cloth. I wanted to originally do it as a tattoo, but... too ripped. It's based on my own tattoo on my leg! Which is based on German medieval poet knight Hartmann von Aue. #nerdlings #warhammercommunity

Close up of the back of my Taal priest. Around his hip, he has a light brown cloth, adorned with vine motives and red flowers. Check the next image to kmow why!

Bad photo of my right leg. There's a tattoo of Hartmann von Aue on there. Check the next image for more details.

The cover image of knight Hartmann von Aue in the Codex Manesse! A knight on horse, in blue armour, shield and horse cover. Behind him is a green vine with red flowers.

I often think that Elder Races built their gates so huge was because they quickly realized that the emerging race of Man was very, very, very impressed by tall things. And from the first "Whoa :O" onwards, it's really easy to do diplomacy from a position of power. :D
