I'm planning on entering the NYC Short Story Challenge, which is accepting registration until January 23! It looks like a neat event and comes with access to a good quality writer's forum. nycmidnight.com/ssc

I will try to get some good photos and will have some things to share in the proceeding days. Hope you're all doing well out there!

So far at all vending events I have just sold pictures and framed pieces, but to cap the year off I'm working on offering a small selection of sculptures, as well as the appearance of a new, much smaller and more 'ottery' vending partner, who will be manning an empty seat. (2/3)

I haven't been very active lately! But have been busy working on some things behind the scenes, which should be fun for the next art show; November 22nd at the Jingle & Mingle Craft Show at the Alpena Boys & Girls Club. (1/3)

He had a big beaten-up longboard and was apparently skating most of the way to some annual concert, just making a pit stop. I got to pondering what sort of adventures that guy has been up to and ended up with this; Kinda pulling a bit from my vending experience as well. (2/2)

When I worked at Wally-world I was shoehorned into working register for a brief stint, probably not long before I left. There was one person I met very briefly during that time that immediately piqued my curiosity and I kinda wish I had more opportunity to chat but he seemed like he was busy. (1/2)

I was looking through my DA gallery not too long ago and saw a rendition of Asriel that sparked a need to redo or at least reapply some creativity to the character. It's been awhile since I've played #Undertale but the music still gets me.

Trying something a bit unconventional, working out designs for a character. I'd like to sculpt said character eventually, and have some materials that would be incorporated, so I painted them in roughly to scale on a photo reference.

I had the opportunity to make some cinnamon rolls with someone near and dear to me recently, and it got me thinking that it's been awhile since I've done some still life painting.

(belatedly) Thank you! I appreciate the input. :) There is an official Small Saga Discord server that has a fairly regular influx of fan art if interested.

While it took a long time and a lot more editing that could have been settled earlier, it’s one of my favorite works to date. For me as a painter it is a bit of a milestone to have brought it to this point. I hope others enjoy it and might find similar inspiration in these works! (7/7)

Finally, though it was a matter of consternation throughout, there was the balance of colors! Verm & friends are all color-coded, including the guards! It seemed best to approach as a burst of vibrancy being pit against a more dull & washed-out element in the shadows. (6/7)

All the while I was still using the same aspect ratio as the original inspiration, but found my more sparse population of the scene needed tightening. The progress through the crowd of thimble guards and tight-packed clash of friend & foe got a little more emphasis I think. (5/7)

After a hiatus (over a year!) I went back at it, but had issues with Clip Studio Paint. It had been reliable for so long, but drivers for my version were obsolete, and I had other options. I switched to using Rebelle 5 out of curiosity and knew for sure that it had to be a full painting. (4/7)

This piece underwent a lot of changes through its creation owing to a good bit of initial oversight. From the start I intended to go with a line art style to ensure a clean-cut image, but found about half-way through that a more painterly look might be really nice. (3/7)

Composition is based on one of my favorite paintings by Jason Rainville, "Storm the Seedcore." (www.jasonrainville.com/blog/process...) Characters are from one of my favorite indie games over the last several years, Small Saga. (store.steampowered.com/app/1320140/...) (2/7)

Returning later than anticipated with an update. Our unnamed Mongoose has undergone some changes but I landed on something that worked and went with it! The combination of different entries was a challenge, but a fun one! There may be further development, but today seems like a fitting day to share

A simplified look at our Mongoose! They'll likely look a fair bit different once I get into line art and painting, but it's a start. (From another Let's Make An OC on social media)

HUMAN ARTISTS, use only one piece to convince people to follow you. In this case, ❄️"A Cold Journey"❄️ is probably the one! I ought to try some more in this vein of work. (But I say that about a lot of different things.) #artsharing #art #winter #anthroart

Thank you! I think it's important to try new things here & there, and it's definitely different from the usual. I might revisit it another time to makes some corrections, but it seems to be at a good place at the moment.

The mirror-like ball will be a beach ball at the end I think, but I thought it would be a nice little lighting guide to have right in the image itself for referring to.
