Happy Holon-ween! 👻👅 #fakemon #fakemonart #art #ConceptArt #OC #OCsky #HolonBeasts #Holon-Beasts

Ensemble piece featuring 5 Holon-Beasts.
From left-to-right, huddled in a group, are Polterbulb (a lightbulb-like creature with a tail made of electricity), Hauntead (a stuffed head with button eyes and a red cap; glowing blue eyes peer out from the stuffed head’s mouth), Tungunk (a dark-colored ghost with a glowing bulb on its head; it’s wagging its large, oil-dipped tongue), Yukone (a white, sheet-like creature, with a wide, yellow-toothed grin and menacing eyes, atop her head are crystal horns of ice), and Aislad (a small, doughy creature clapping a white shawl tightly against its body, as if it’s cold). They are jumping out from a dark forest, faintly illuminated by the light of a nearly-gone moon.

Designing monsters is all fun and games until you have to give it colour and you have a dozen combinations in front of you and can’t decide which one to use.

Concept sketches for some of the boss encounters in #Holon-Beasts. #art #ConceptArt #OC #OCsky #HolonBeasts

Sketch of a ruined building half submerged in water. A horned serpent is rising from the pooling water. Beams of light shine in from above.

Sketch of the top of a skyscraper, surrounded by storm clouds. Arcs of lightning jump between the clouds. A bird-like creature with storm clouds for wings rises out of a hole in the building.

Sketch of an underground cavern with purple crystal growths. They are surrounding the ruins of a cathedral where many cars have been stacked atop each other. Standing within the cathedral is a dark, armadillo-like creature with a sun disk on its head.

Sketch of the ruins of an iron foundry, where the molten metal has spilled into a large pool. From the pool rises a stone column, atop which stands a small, humanoid figure speckled with fiery red dots.

I’ve been struggling with working on Holon-Beasts because I had no idea what the *plot* would be. I’ve had this unifying theme of traveling around and helping people, but no cohesive narrative. But now I’ve figured it out! Yippee!

Gonna be real with you gang: ongoing genocides all over the global south, the US’s embrace of fascism, my increasing inability to get myself and my pets necessary healthcare, or feed my family, which is only gonna get worse, makes it very difficult to want to make art. Shocker.

Got something different today! Here’s a “test map” I made to try out sprite assets for a potential Holon-Beasts game. I’m still a spriting noob, so if anyone sees anything worth critique, I’d appreciate it! #art #pixalart #retro #fakemon #Holon-Beasts

WAKALANGHOUL is an exceptionally enigmatic Holon-Beast. These WIND Elementals, with the AVIAN and DARKNESS Aspects, are seldom seen, as they spend all of their waking hours dashing from shadow to shadow. #art #OC #OCsky #Fakemon #HolonBeasts
